Newsstand acts as a folder so can't be in the App Store. The contents of the newsstand folder will be subscription based apps from the App Store.

From Apple website "iOS 5 organizes your magazine and newspaper app subscriptions in Newsstand: a folder that lets you access your favorite publications quickly and easily. There’s also a new place on the App Store just for newspaper and magazine subscriptions."
 
Calendar in Landscape

Not sure if this is new, or if its been mentioned before- rotating the iPhone to landscape brings up Calendar in "weekly view"
 
MobileMe

I asked this question in the iCloud section but got no reply.

Has anyone been able to access expired MobileMe mail account transitioned to iCloud?

I had an expired MobileMe account, which I reactived as an iCloud ID. Find my iPhone and other iCloud services work fine. Am even able to use it as an Apple ID to download from the AppStore. But I keep getting this error: 'The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect'.

So where is this new place on the App Store? I cant find it. Or is it not implemented yet?
 
iMessage help?

Can someone help me out real quick. It should be fairly easy, but i guess my friend and i are doing something wrong..

He just installed iOS beta 3 this morning, we tried iMessage. but instead of his number registering on my phone it's his email that's sending me the iMessage and not his phone.

Is there any reason for this? My other friend who installed iOS 5 Beta 3 with me yesterday, it didn't happen to him. When he sent an iMessage his contact name quickly popped up. Not his email.

If anyone can help i'd appreciate it!

iMessages has a Caller ID setting.

Settings, Messages, Receive At, Caller ID

He showed me screenshot he has his number and one email address.

on his caller ID it's chosen as his number, when i tried texting his number, he replies with iMessage BUT his email is replying
 
When writing the name of the person you're going to text/iMessage, there is a blue balloon next to the person's name if they can iMessage:

on photos, there's an option to assign to contact, is that new? i don't remember it being there before, am liking the options in photostream is scrollable.

Still no ability to delete photos from the photostream though
 
wow, 43% battery left before i went sleep, it's dead in the morning. not sure what caused that.

Noticed that while playing a game, if you accidentally swipe the top, the notification bar doesn't come down. Just a small slotted graphic comes down to confirm your intent. Nice.
 
What about mp3 files downloaded from the internet?? (or from an email attachment)
Is it possible to add them to the music library from the ios device, or do you still need an itunes sync for that?
 
Battery life def improved.

Took few pics now they go to the top in camera roll and sometimes to the bottom.

Also while copying from the iphone to a folder in PC all have started from IMG001
i mean the pics i took today starts from IMG001 is it a bug ? cause sime pics say img4500 and continue the same series just few almost like 35 , 36 pics gone to 001 ???

Also if you use any other twitter client you have to sign in every time it pops up saying apple has changed something ....

Also i don't remember if this available before but you can print the maps !

Can anyone tell me if the YouTube app has been improved? Any sharing options as of yet? This app is so outdated...!

Nohing has changed about it as far as I know.

And yes, most of the apps in iOS are terribly outdated. YouTube, Maps, Notes, Calendar, Weather, Camera… all need reworks and improvements.
 
Audiobooks synced

I was listening to an audiobook on my iPhone, took a break, then began the file on my iPad, and it started right when I had left off on my iPhone. I have iOS5 beta 3 on both. I know iBooks will sync your place between devices, so I can image Apple doing this, but this is the first time I've noticed it. Was it a feature before this release?

I don't think this was implemented before iOs 5. I'm so excited for when it comes out.. It's going to make my life much easier :)

You can share with Twitter in iOS 5. Hell, I've been sharing to twitter from Safari and YouTube since iOS 3 using 'share via email' and ping.fm.
