I wasn't even going to upgrade but now I think I am more excited about os 5 then lion. Thanks for the thread.
Not for me unless it's time based. I had a conversation with some one still on iOS 4 yesterday and when I type his name in a new message that blue bubble doesn't show up.No, that chat bubble is there if you currently have an open message thread with that person.
One of the things im looking forward to most other than the new notification system is imessages. It would be useful to just be able to send text messages from my ipad if i'm using it at the time instead of taking out my iPhone.
I have a question about it though. Say I'm texting another iPhone user from my iPhone, because that would use imessage are those texts going to also come up on my iPad?
judging from what I have seen yes
looks like anything imessage related will all appear on the ipad.
It puts all notifications in the NC (unless off in settings) so apps don't need to be updated. It works wonderfully.I'm guessing for notifcation center where you get alerts that apple will update all the apps like sportscenter otherwise surely you won't get those alerts?
iMessage basically keeps them in sync but there is a setting that allows you to change what email addresses can receive iMessages on the device. Not sure that would help.Ugh I was afraid of that. Hopefully there is a setting that will allow you to toggle which device you want/dont want them coming up on.

I'm guessing the iPhone 5 will have some sort of less bright led notification when it comes out! I have seen patents for LEDs under the glass i think for notifications which would be awesome!

I believe there is something in settings that can make sure you don't have to not send to certain e-mail addresses.
Gotcha. I'm not using the iOS 5 beta so maybe I don't have a good grasp on the entire concept. I was under the impression phone numbers were used in imessage, but then again how could that be if its also running on iPads and iPods. I'll figure it out in the Fall! haha.
4 finger swipe between apps now has a very slight 'pop up' animation to it.

i just found out that u can swipe to right in the camera app to acess the camera roll. swipe back to the left to go back to the camera app. wicked!
yea that was in beta 1 and i am fairly certain it was on the keynote
That one's for iPad only!
This might be a problem since the BB Playbook has this already. Maybe the home button should light up with a multi color option.Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)
I totally agree with you on that one, an LED under the screen would be awesome!
