Updated to beta 7 OTA. Same issue happened to me. Removing all music and then resyncing it all fixed the problem. Kind of a pain because I have 2200 songs, but now I'm all good and so far haven't found any other issues with beta 7.

Whiners about Beta being the worst _____ Fill in the blank, IMHO don't deserve help. I think that is the point of people whom you call trolls. In posts where an adult question/problem is asked about generally there isn't the flood of posts you describe. If you are a IOS dev, have you experienced negative app reviews from Beta users??

missed my point , took many un-constructive answers to someone who is asking for a solution or sharing a problem. too many so called developers "its beta wait till its released and so on " what use is this??

yes I develop designs as clients insist on compatiability with current and future IOS devices ,I come here looking looking for real world end user problems ,but the flood of arrogance "its beta don't install it on your primary device and so on" is well apparent.

sure its not apples thought but whats wrong in giving a helping hand to offer a solution . anyway the fix for this thread is

:)skabadelic :D

What about the flood of users complaining and bashing Apple and other Devs about known issues which were clearly documented in Apple's beta release notes? Is that useful for you?

so you are one of those let me guess you paid $99 for the privilege now your a Dev , still missing my point non constructive answers/solutions to easy to just type "read the notes"

the answer to this thread is

:D Mascots Just an FYI, here's how you fix it:
Sync your phone
Sync and remove all of the music from you phone
Resync it all back onto your phone

Unchecking Music, Syncing, Checking, and Syncing again solved my problem.

Thanks for your help guys. Though I did have to wade through the BS posts in this thread to find the answer... No thanks to those jerks. Keep at it, forum noobs, and you'll make this wonderful forum worse off.

You people installed beta software and are now upset because you've been inconvenienced by a bug?
Why are there so many of you that say that?

Yes, they are. If nobody installed beta software, it would take YOU and everyone else 10 times longer to receive new releases. If they didn't install betas, Apple wouldn't have even close to enough documentation on what they needed to fix.

Get over yourself.

(And FYI, I have not installed iOS 5.)

Yeap...was dumb and did the OTA update today. I can't resync my music because I'm in Hawaii. Dammit...and I have no other ipod with me. lol

I don't recall Apple looking for beta testers.

You might consider it strange if you had read my entire post instead of just the first part. The fact that my songs weren't playing weren't the strange part. I guess you can't be bothered to read something, though, just respond with a snarky post.

I bet they feel silly now. ha.

This. They're not, especially not from people who are not familiar with the software writing process and can't even submit problems as non-developers. People need not forget that Apple releases a LOT of software that is relatively bug-free without public beta testing; the primary reason for releasing the beta versions of iOS is for developers to ready their apps for the launch of the next major platform update (which tends to break software because there are more drastic API changes than those in minor releases). Bug reporting is something that is "pushed to the side" and not as important because Apple, like many other software companies, fork their releases to internal and external builds, of which there can be multiple versions of each existing at once. Internal builds are constantly compiled and have potential to differ greatly from what we see in the external builds (e.g., the windowed multitasking concept that was never released in a beta but existed on a prototype iPhone 4). Internal builds exist solely for the purpose of testing iOS (for bugs, performance, etc) and developing its features, unlike external builds which are "roughly refined" internal builds meant to be released to a general audience of developers to use as guidance of development until the iOS GM is released.

How do you develop software while in a truck?

Well loser.. I actually have a day job. people like you who are devs need to get off of your high horse that your the only real dev on the planet who uses beta software for its intended purpose.. Get a life and stop think your the only ****in real dev alive and gargle my balls

guys, there are people starving to death all over the world in this very moment, could it be of value to try putting this beta problem in proportion just to find out how much it really matters? I feel that some people's serious miseries could at least be acknowledged or even given credit to by always trying to comprehend why certain people do certain things, to help out when one is in the position to easily help out and to resist challenges of people who obstruct or break that peace.
As for the Beta, I ran it on my primary device, couldnt listen to my Music, it made me annoyed for a minute, then I accepted and/or forgot about it.

I'm truly sorry for all the developers that suffer financially from bad ratings or related implications. I would be so happy if they could all act as advocates for more considerate communication with the less knowledgeable yet still friendly or for generally less communication with unmovable and unreasonable opinions.

well said , the world(this forum as well) would be a better place if we all stop thinking we are better than the other , and for one moment helping those that need it instead of just being obnoxious . 20 years ago I saw an advert on MTV "if your not a part of solution ! you may be a part of the problem" how true .
