iOS 5 Beta 8 on Friday, GM on September 23rd, Carrier Approval by October 5th?

I'm in the UK and releases for iOS Betas have been around 11pm

quick question about the GM. Do you have to have a dev. account to install this? I already have the beta just wondering if you need one to get the GM if it was provided on the net some where.

It'll be the same as the Lion GM (provided they don't find a bug in it last minute) — that is, it'll be the exact same file that will be released publicly, except that it's given to developers a week or so early so they can test and submit fully compatible versions of their apps. Of course, it'll leak a lot more widely than the betas because of this, but that's been the case for every major iOS release.
