Omg my iPad 3 battery dropped 4 percent in 15 mins of surfing . Definitely batter problem

After a full charge I was at 100% went to work texted a little maybe 15 texts or less

Current battery 13%
Usage 4 hours 57 min
Standby 15 hours 39 min

Yours seems to be better than mine. I'd usually be around 50% right about now, so I don't think it's acceptable, my screen brightness is below half!

I now got;

Battery: 21%
Usage: 7 hours 36 min
Standby: 1 Day, 12 hours

I had good battery life in iOS5 as well, but I actually think it has improved with iOS6.

My iphone 4s has gotten horrible battery life. At 5am I was at 100%, by 9am I was at 23%. I used pandora for an hour with the screen off, I haven't actually surfed the web or used maps. Just silly.

My final battery update!

I have the feeling that the battery is draining faster on my 4s and iPad.
We'll have to just wait for Apple to tweak the settings.

Have faith people. Apple is gonna nail everything. Time will tell.

I had some issues yesterday...was dropping about 1% every 3 minutes or so during usage, but was fine on standby. Don't know what was going on. When I went to bed, I had just shy of 3 hours of usage from last full charge, but was down to 17%.

This morning, since I've woken up after a full recharge, though, it's been fine. Wonder if it just needs to calibrate the battery. I've not had 45 minutes of usage and 1hr 45 standby, and it's at 93%, which while not amazing, is fine, since a lot of that usage was app downloading and installing, some games, etc.

This has been my experience too. Day 1 the battery drained at the 1% per 3minutes rate and died while I was out. After a full overnight charge the battery life has been better than before. I have NO idea if this was just a bug on initial install, an app update, or Devine intervention. I just know it is better now.

With my usage, battery of my iPhone 4 was lasting for almost 2 days after charging during last two years. After iOS 6 update it hardly last for a day. What can I say...

I have tried everything that I have read-no facebook, shut off all icloud, reset and recovered but still eating the battery. I even tried to reload 5.1.1 but it will no longer allow it. APPLE this is wrong! I refuse to update my ipad or therest of our iOS devices-6 in total.

has anyone heard if Apple has admitted that there is a problem?

Battery life on the 4 is terrible. Since i've upgraded my phone drains rapidly when it's not even in use. My phone dropped from about 63 percent to 30 percent in a about an hour of just sitting on my desk unused.
This has been my experience with the iPhone 4. I've started using airplane mode while at work. As best as I can figure, it seems to relate to how the phone connects to networks when the signal is weak. Whether this is related to accessing iCloud or something, I don't know. But under iOS 6, my 4 just churns right through the battery. My guess is if I didn't notice it on the first day, it would've hit 0% with no use on my part in about four hours.

Also, last night while charging, for some reason my 4 stopped at 30%. When I unplugged it this morning and plugged it back in, it went back charging to normal.

Todays is my first full workday since I updated and I noticed the battery was draining pretty quick. I also noticed that everytime I turned on my phone Passbook would try to get a GPS location. I turned Location Services for passbook and it seems to have fixed the problem.

ios 6 greatly improved my battery life on the 4s. I never experienced very good battery life running ios 5. I usually averaged around 4.5 hours now it is closer to 7.

Looks like I'm in the "much worse battery life" on my iPhone 4. Seems to be around 85% in no time and I usually would make it through the entire work day without dropping below 70%. Looks like I'll be there by mid-morning now. It gets hot now too. Dang, hopefully the settings will get tweaked.

Awful on my 4, although it does seem a little snappier than iOS 5. I just turned off notifications for Passbook as suggested earlier in this thread... we'll see if it helps. I honestly don't see myself ever using Passbook anyway.

My 3GS battery has gotten so bad since I updated to 6.0 that its almost unbeliveable and un-useable...I told my buddy I think it's a ploy by apple for all us old 3GS users to finally update to the new 5, lol

My final battery update!

Hi majuha,

Can you share some info, such as:

Who is your carrier?
Do you have location services enabled?
Are you having the phone check email automatically on a schedule, push, or manual?

I was getting around 2 percent drain every 5-6 minutes in IOS6 even in airplane mode (so much for blaming Sprint for that problem! :p) with low screen brightness and manually enabling wifi (in airplane mode) surfing the web on my 4s... This was pretty much the case in IOS 5.1.1 as well during normal day to day use. I always got around 5 hours of usage (according to the phone), mostly on wifi all day long. Did clean reloads of the OS, turned off features, etc. I did notice that it looks like location services show as being turned on even in airplane mode... I turned location services off globally as a test and turned off airplane mode going back to otherwise normal settings (I still left mail to manual for now), and battery life is much more normal. Not that leaving all location services off is a good solution, but perhaps there is a bug somewhere. During my testing, I had manually killed all apps as well. It seemed strange that even acting as a glorified iPod Touch I couldn't touch Apple's claimed battery life! Bad pun. I know... :)

I do keep an eye on what says it's using location services, and there was not much to report. I had turned off location services for Siri before I did the test listed above (I use Siri a fair bit) and that didn't seem to help. I'll have to start testing by disabling location services app by app...

I've got 6 hours usage 20 hours standby with 7% left so I seem to be doing worse than others

6 hours usage with 20 standby on 3G is ok, you cant get much more out of a 4S.

----------

3G is still used under wi-fi in my experience, but dont know why and what it does

I did a little test and left my iPhone 4 on standby starting at 6pm last night with a starting battery percentage of 93%. After 24 hours it dropped to 91%.

This is with no usage whatsoever of course but it seems to be right on the money compared to what it was before the update. Maybe even a little better.

Hi Frank,

I'm not in the US, so don't know if that's any help to you. My carrier is Vodafone in Spain.

I have location services enabled on around 75% of my apps. As well I have Notifications on a number of apps.

For my emails, I got fetch on every hour.

Brightness is set just in the middle, auto-brightness is also enabled.

Bluetooth is off. Never use it actually.

I believe I have a rather normal setup on my phone. As mentioned in earlier posts, I have always experienced great battery life. Never ever had battery issues.

I am on Wifi most of the day, but when heavy 3G use I normally get around 6-7 hours usage and 1 day in standby.

How is your battery life when only connected to Wifi?

Significant Battery Drain

iPhone 5
2 out of 3 nights, gone to bed with phone near or at 100%.
Exactly 5 hours of sleep.
Wake up to find warning that my phone has less than 8% battery remaining.
How/Why did it burn through 90% unused?
I turn on-off phone at least once a day to clear issues.
Few apps running in background, 3, I believe.
On Wi-Fi, though LTE enabled via ATT, Location Services On, Siri On
Email pulls every 30 minutes.
Massive problem for me, any ideas?
Please help.
