Question. If something happens to my iPhone be it the front glass getting shattered and I want a replacement. I know Apple will replace my iPhone 4 for $149. But will I be able to retrieve my iCloud account from that replacement being as though the replacement will be iOS 5.1.1?

How does this work?

If you're asking whether you'll be able to restore your iOS6 iCloud backup onto your iOS5 iPhone the answer is no.
However theres nothing stopping you from installing iOS6 onto your new iPhone and then restoring.

Siri has VASTLY improved. Her old natural voice came back and she feels a lot snappier.

iv noticed the battery is very up and down

yesterday i seemed to go though my charge very quickly

but today its a lot better, so not sure whats happening there

Here's a nice small improvement in the stores: the first option on the list when you're typing a search is for exactly what you have typed. Previously it only showed suggestions and if you wanted to search for exactly what you types you had to press search. Not a very big thing but my be good for people who are old or new to the OS.

So when I get my replacement tomorrow from the Apple Store. Is my UDID still going to be tied to my new replacement iPhone or how does that work? I'm definitely going to restore my iPhone back to iOS 6 Beta.

I figured if you was to backup on iOS 6 and restored your iPhone to iOS 5. Your iCloud account would be lost.

no, the UDID is unique to each iDevice; you need to register your new iPhone's UDID if you want to install iOS on it.

Can anyone verify that the MMS bug has been fixed?

I would also like to know if MMS has been fixed?? Was main reason I went back to 5.1.1 due to this error. I'd like confirmation before I move to iOS 6 beta 2. thanks!! On iPhone 4S CDMA. Thanks

I went ahead and installed Beta 2 and MMS is working fine now :)

I typed axt in a note in the Notes app, selected it, and chose Define from the the popup. That brought me to the Dictionary with the "Would you like to download a dictionary" prompt. I didn't choose to download it.

Yes there is a dedicated thread about that.

Michael

Thanks for the info Michael, did the same for me once I followed what you had done. First time I've done a beta, all very interesting finding out new stuff

Any of you guys care to upload a video of the moon crescenting in and out from DND mode? It would be greatly appreciated.

And here's 4S first charge. iOS 5 used to drain itself in about 1-2 days. 4 hours or so were probably music playing, but I still think it's quite good.

Finally posted this, this POS Safari crashed 5 times in a row, just wouldn't upload the picture..

Which iPad do you have? It has the animation on my iPad 3rd Generation. I am running Beta 2 of iOS 6.

Same as you. Is the icon next to the sleep switch supposed to be changing. I see a crescent moon icon and it doesn't change when sliding the switch on and off. Not that it matters, just curious. Yes I'm running beta 2.

It doesn't change !!! It's the nice effect of it appearing and disappearing

What was the bug with MMS? I'm hoping that when I send group text out to my contacts that the numbers are not included to everyone, and when Iphone users reply it replies to all.

When sending out pictures, the receivers were just getting blank texts.

I would like to see a separate toggle for both the 3G and the "faux 4g" hspa+ on AT&T phones (and other networks that support hspa+ abroad).

I don't know if the hspa+ consumes any more power than 3G, but it would be neat to have the capility of turning it off, if only to make a speed test comparison.

But I'm sure there'll be a 4G toggle on the new phone. I'd like to see both a 3G and a 4G toggle.

In other words, I think you should be able to separately toggle each network off until you get to the lowest supported network, both for battery life, data charges, and speed test comparisons.

Something that looks like this:

ENABLE LTE (OFF-ON) <---- For LTE & HSPA+ devices
Enable HSPA + (OFF-ON) <---- For HSPA+ devices
Enable 3G (OFF-ON)
Enable Celular Data (OFF-ON)
