Here's another fix: on beta 2, the in-car connection with BMWs via Bluetooth audio, wired USB, or plug-in adapter was very slow. The plug-in feature with mimicked iPod interface didn't work at all. But this has returned in beta 3 and is working properly again.

This prob isn't new but I never noticed it before. Siri has a Bluetooth button on it if your connected to a Bluetooth device you can enable or disable the use of the iPhone mic.

Now in Beta 3, when you have siri in spanish after install it sends a message that says that Siri is now available in Spanish and that you can access it by holding home button.

Is anybody having issues sending a picture message? I am not able to receive any or send, the sending bar never finishes.

Has anyone else noticed a difference in volume in the Music app? Seems like I have to turn my volume up a bit more than usual for a desired result. Not sure if this is an intentional change or not. They might have changed its curve.

Maps

Does anyone actually have Maps working for turn by turn navigation exactly how they showed it in the keynote? Even appearing in the lock screen? I am in New Zealand and it is not working here... no voice navigation even.. just beautiful maps...

Which iPhone are you using? Turn by turn is 4S only.

And talking of turn by turn. Who prefers the blue instructions? Personally preferred the green. Seems there's too much blue on the map screen now as the route is blue also.

To add to my previous post I've just discovered its UK routes that show up in blue. Check the screens

Interesting, it seems the US maps is mimicking the road sign color scheme. I like it a lot actually... clean and easy to read. I wonder why UK is Blue?

Motorway signs in the UK are blue, smaller main roads are green, and one lane roads and streets are white.

They'll probably use the corresponding colors for the street you are on/supposed to turn to. They are tweaking the road colors on the map as well, it seems.

Isn't this thread a violation of Apple's beta NDA?

Hey guys and gals, thought I would create a thread where you could post new features and improvements you might encounter in Beta 3. I did this for beta 2, so lets get this one going!

Hi all. I am a refugee from the "iPhone Dev SDK" forum, which is inexplicably down, and perhaps down and out.

I posted to MacRumors a few times on Mac OS a while back, but am just finding my way around the iOS part of this site.

I'm surprised to see open discussion of iOS 6 features. Apple's site has their iOS 6 features inside an NDA-only area.

Other non-apple iOS development sites (like the aforementioned iPhone Dev SDK" site prohibit discussion of pre-released OS versions completely.

How can you get away with discussing iOS 6 here without incurring Apple's wrath?

(Note that I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm honestly curious, and cautious about breaking Apple's NDA.)

I can send just fine through iMessage... but SMS to any other phone (Android) and the image will be stuck at sending, then fail.

Resetting network settings didnt fix it for me.

I am getting the red dots and road works symbol in standard view but I think they should exist also in hybrid view. The thing is its 18:20 at the moment, we both know that London now is always stop start, surely the whole of London should be one big maze of red dots?

True... I wonder how they're sourcing the traffic information? There was something about crowd-sourcing, and there are dozens of credits for maps and other data when you click on the credits text behind the maps. I guess that they're simply pulling in more as and when they can to make sure everything is working by autumn.

It's actually amazing to think about how much data is needed, and all of the sources and formats, etc. that you need to deal with, to get an interactive map working around the world...

I thought it was just me but I notice a slightly lower audio output in any app, in Spotify I have it one notch up more then I used to. Or my hearing is finally starting to go..

I have no idea why you are obsessing about the use of jumbled here. Or you see no merit in having your notifications sorted by category on the lock screen. If that's the case you could just say that and leave it at that.

Clearly I see notifications being sorted by time, but jumbled by category as being less than ideal. I would like Apple to make this option available in the future. End of story.

I don't get the argument that you two are having - or at least the one that you are trying to provoke (and please lay off the personal attacks - it's neither big nor clever). On the lock screen, it makes perfect sense to me, (and presumably to the vast majority, as I've never heard or seen anyone complain about this before) that notifications are in the order that they arrived in. And on the basis that most people actually use their iPhones/iPads, as soon as you unlock it the notifications disappear! Funnily enough, if you want to look at them again, in the order that you've selected in Settings, you simply swipe down... Bingo!

I don't know if this has been posted already, sorry if it has, but all my keyboard shortcuts now synced between my iPad 2 and iPhone 4s.

Thanks, that really is very useful. I assume they merge? Is there setting for it anywhere. I hope one day they sync with OSX.

I seem to remember this happened through the iOS5 betas. They obviously play with stuff during this period, and the things that varied significantly, for me at least, were volume, bluetooth volume, bluetooth connectivity and wifi connection sensitivity. Bluetooth volume, at one stage, was too loud at full strength. But then it was too quiet too hear at another. It obviously ended somewhere in between...
