Brick...a Brac

if you don't know what a UDID number is you really should be installing iOS 6

Uh......budeeee........I dunno......never had a problem with my 1st generation Droid with android os. Is IOS much different? I still use my Droid for Navigation since I bought all the cradles, cables, and whatnot. I just got my iPhone a few days ago. I have been trying to get my iPod to do as much as possible over the last few years. No bricks yet:)

Again, if didn't know what a UDID was, installing a BETA isn't the best idea.

It's been common knowledge since day 1 of beta 1 that all you need to do is click update instead of restore.
I don't know what mysterious "exploit" you claim to have found but it just doesn't get any simpler than that.

You are mistaken, you can't just simply 'update' lol. I don't think Apple are that stupid. However it is almost as simple as that. You have to first restore your phone using shift and selecting it yourself, going through the setup process (setting it up as a brand new phone) and then updating.

I might do the old shift restore back to 5.1.1 and just wait until ios 6 is ready for general release and minus bugs and issues

Not that Impressed with ios 6 so far, I know it's very early in beta but Siri is worse than before and maps need updating for Uk

I'm in the UK and apples satellite maps are more recent for where I am, within 7 months. Googles one is still 6 years old. Siri is much better for me, picking up all my mumblings! :)

You don't even have to restore before updating to the beta. All you need is the required iTunes version and the beta ipsw. The thing that bothers me is all people have to do is use google, yet the come here asking the same questions over and over

Yeh....I Know

No...? I'm just saying if don't know some basic things, you shouldn't use a beta. I'm just trying to help.

Just joshing with you:p I've been a Motorola Beta tester for years. They don't charge anything to give android beta's a spin around the block. There's no way you can sign up for Motorola's beta program without registering you UDI.

Just different geek speak....for instance.....we ROOT....vs Jailbreak to tweak the os.

By the way....do you play baseball?

I know how to do it people don't argue lol. I have already reverted back to ios 5 on my iPad 3rd gen. I figure let everyone test the buggy software and wait till it's ready for gen release

Use to, now I'm just a fan.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. I've done it many times starting with iOS 5 beta 1. Please know what you're talking about...cause you're only embarrassing yourself.

I did it twice without restoring first and got errors both time. So have loads of other people. Another person in this thread just confirmed that... The only person embarrassing themselves here is you. If you check all the tech websites they all say it is a crucial step in the process.

Were devices put into DFU Mode?
