I have had my phone for almost a year it is old... ugh. complaining. It feels like an iPhone (1).

:D

Try dealing with Android for 3 years...I gave them 3 years and 4 phones to get it right. Android has so much more potential than what iOS offers, but no one wants to do it right. I love all the eye candy and widgets that android has, but the lag and jittery BS just pissed me off to no end. That and having to root/hack the device requires a cult following on XDA.

My new Iphone doesnt look nearly as nice as my HTC Sensation (rooted out the ying yang), but it sure is smoother. Also nice to see Apple did all the work for me. (No rooting required in order to make the software work right)

Nexus 7

I have the Nexus 7 tablet and the way i use it i can get up to 2 days on one charge using it a lot with Wifi on. Plus the new Jelly Bean 4.1.1 is really smooth. I'm about to root it and load it up to see how the quad core processor does and 1GB of RAM. I really don't like the signature only having 200 character limit. lol random i know.

I'm just anxious to finally do an OTA update. I went back to 5.1.1 after each beta due to battery issues. I finally set up as a new phone (battery is great) and now i'll FINALLY be upgrading :D

T-8 minutes until possible launch. It might be scrubbed.

Appears like their was a failure to launch. Maybe a rain delay. :D Check back tomorrow around one.

I'm glad you posted this, now I don't have to find it. I assume from this that iOS 6 will follow the same pattern as iOS 4 & only have 5 betas. Even if that is the case, beta 4 is still late based off of the pattern in that chart.

I would say the same pattern as iOS 5, Maps still needs a lot of work yet.

A mid-September announcement/late Sept. release would make it seem we're not gonna get 8 betas like 5.0

So you think that if by beta 7 there are still bugs, apple will go ahead and release the GM anyway just to stay on track with some imaginary timeline the community has invented?

If there are still major bugs, I don't think they will have a problem with reaching beta 12; similarly I wouldn't be shocked if they decided to stop at 4, providing it was bug free.

From what I can tell the timeline for releasing betas is driven by the progress of bug elimination. Devs in the beta program find the issues and report them, apple fix them and release the next beta, the issues are confirmed as fixed and any new ones reported. It's a life cycle. If the cycle needs to continue through to beta 24, it will - Whether that keeps with the 'Pattern' is completly and utterly irrelevant.

Yes it has to be ready for the new iPhone release whether it's completely bug free or not.
