Nice! if I recall correctly, GM's in the past have been bit-for-bit identical to the released version. So assuming one is willing to acquire this update file in violation of Apple's terms, it's likely to work.
 
is it SAVE for me to install it? i've never installed a GM before (but i know how).
 
downloading it now, so slow! Plodding along at 80kb/sec.. I know it's not my connection, speed test shows 7Mb/sec.
It's not showing in software update, Portal says back up first, and after restoring to GM Seed you can restore backup... Can't remember if it always says that.
Gonna go for the restore once it downloads, unless it pops up in software in the next 2-3 hours whilst the full file downloads =/
 
Cancelled, tried again a few times. Now it's coming in at 8Mb/sec :) much better, will be done in a minute!
 
Hmmm, so where can we find a link to download the golden master. I've been on beta and it's not available in software update

Definitely. Things that could happen:

1) It won't work properly because cloud servers supporting Maps for example aren't quite up to snuff, and you won't be able to downgrade.

2) Your device will be bricked until the official iOS 6 release.

3) You'll be haxored by someone posting a trojan'd copy of iOS (though given Apple's security design this is unlikely).

If I can find a copy of this file and notes from folks that they've successfully installed 10A403, I'll be going for it as I have in the past. (When you have the file, option-click on "check for updates" to manually tell iTunes where your update file is.)
 
Didn't have to restore. Just Option Clicked the ipsw from iTunes and it's updating.

I'll do a full restore on the iPads, seeing if any bugs carry over from iOS6b4 doing the update on the phone.

It won't be avail OTA, at least not now, because you can only download it from the developer page.

but phone's updated.

Safari seems snappier...

I've gone for the full restore. Got some 4gb of "Other" showing on iTunes, and iCloud backup grown mysteriously. Methinks a restore might sort that!

Right on, yeah mine is showing 3.1GB of other. Going to test the update and then full restore on my iPad3 just because I still need to use my dev phone for the next few hours.

Even if it messed up I have my regular phone to use.

I'll full restore it later tonight. I just like trying to find any bugs when updating vs clean installing. Same with OS X.
