It sound incredible ????
Actually is the normal behavior for an iPhone 5S ...
Yesterday it ended up with 8hrs and 10minutes of usage over 20 hrs standby.

Always in 3G (I don't have a 4G Subscription right now because it's too pricey with my provider)

----------

I'm always around 6:45 on my 5s with no games and some music listening. It definitely isn't good as most people here get at least 7:30. I set it up as a new phone a few weeks ago too and it's still not where it should be.

In my experience that is strongly related to your network.
There are places where my iPhone lasts no more than 5-6 hrs and other places (my hometown where I'm right now) where I can reach 8hrs without problems.

11 hrs 2 mins usage 1 day 18 hrs standby and I am at 2%.

4 email accounts with push enabled.
Background app refresh is disabled
Privacy > Location > System Services: only compass calibration and mobile network search are enabled.

Bluetooth is off and wifi is enabled (I never switch wifi off). 3G is enabled.

I charge every couple of days or so, used to be every night before 7.1

So that's why you have good battery. It's because of you using Wifi. Try to only use 3G/4G and Wifi off. Then you won't get more then about 5h use . Thats why iPhone 5s is not pro phone.

My Note 3 get 1d 2h standby and 6h 18 min of use (screentime) on only 3G/4G. On only Wifi I get way better!

Having WiFi enabled is not same as using WiFi. Maybe he is using WiFi now and then, but hardly 100% of the time unless he is stationary all the time (which is seldom the case for most of us).

Are you serious or just trolling about your note 3 ?
What the hell a "pro phone" is ??
I can easily go past the 6hrs of your Note 3 with my iPhone 5s in 3G/LTE, and the simple fact to have wifi always enabled doesn't mean you are using it.
Yesterday I reached 8 hrs and I was always on the go (including a 4 hrs travel) not connected to any wifi access point.
Is my iPhone 5s "pro enough" ?

Yes it is but when you have WIFI on is use prime GSM network and not 4G LTE, what I heard from Apple store.

Wow, 11 hrs are definitely much more what I could reach on mine.
I supposed you did listen a lot of music during those 11hrs, right ?

I have 2 email accounts on mine, but I fetch them every hour (don't need the push).
I have compass, mobile network, wifi network , time zone and traffic enabled on system services.
I keep background app refresh always enabled, but not for every app, bt off and wifi always on just like you.

I've made several test on my iPhone and the difference from an almost totally disabled setting and an almost totally enabled like my actual is less than 40 minutes in usage time, so I prefer to have a fully functional iPhone.
We are always looking for new functionalities, why disable them ? :D

I don't know who told you that but it's simply not true.
Wifi has nothing to do with gsm .... If you are on the go and there isn't any available wifi network around you, you are just using 3G/LTE network.

What was your time use on your iPhone 5S?

This the latest usage on 7.1 on my 5S after my other post yesterday, since full drain/recharge yesterday morning.

pardon me but whats the point of having a smart phone if you have to turn everything off

Being able to access the internet, be directed by sat nav apps, use the camera, make phonecalls, send SMS etc makes a smartphone. The only way it would be rendered useless is if you had airplane mode engaged all the time.
Toggling off push emails and few system location services doesn't render the phone a dumbphone.

My dad got a HTC One (M8) and he clocked an insane 10:03 hours of screen on time! That phone is also really smooth. I never thought Android would surpass iOS in both battery and smoothness.

I think it's time to leave Apple.

With HTC ? You'll be back within one year ...

Btw according to GsmArena , battery life on One M8 is better but not so much better than an iPhone 5s for web browsing and video playback (it's much better only in talk time)

You are probably right. My previous phone was a HTC Sensation. Worst phone ever. I actually threw it on the ground while I was jogging because it rebooted randomly while playing music. Got completely shattered and I got my iPhone 5.

I don't think there is a solution this time around. We'll have to wait for an update.

My son's 16g iPad Air has terrible battery life since updating to 7.1. My 5 and g/f's 5C are still on 7.0.5 b/c they're jailbroken and work fine. However with the kiddo's iPad we decided to just go ahead and update. The last two nights however, he has came up to me and said, "Dad, my iPad died". Leaves me scratching my head as I know he hasn't been on it that long and never had this problem on 7.0.4 (I think that's what he was on before updating to 7.1). Frustrating as heck. Tomorrow I will probably DFU and run a fresh/new install of 7.1 on it and see what happens.
