My battery life was great from 7 to 7.0.4, got worse under 7.0.6, then 7.1 fixed it for me and now it is even better than 7.0.4.

What apple device are you using that seemed to get better?

There have been several threads on the battery life on 7.1. Some have seen less battery life but for the most part, for others, the battery life was equal or better on 7.1

Battery life seems about the same to me.

That is why I made a new thread because most people just talked about better battery life-not worse

I have yet to see this "battery drain" issue. My iPhone holds on for 2 days and 8 hours of usage on a daily basis.

I did a clean restore and set it up as a new phone. No problems so far.

I really hope you are speaking about 2 days of standby and 8 hours of usage, because "2 days and 8 hours of usage" is just insane :D:D:D

I think you've all missed something; I just found the root causes of a few issues:

My iPod touch has increased battery life; it now lasts 12 days with full time daily use, instead of 8 hours.

My battery life became significantly worse. I can probably cap at 6 hours of usage over a day and a half.

I think the battery is awesome on 7.1. 4S here, everything is ON (background app refresh too), except 3G and BT:

No change in battery life. It's about the same as iOS 6.0, 6.1, 7.0, 7.0.4, blabla.

Each 10 mins, battery life of my iPhone 5s drops 1%, even if I don't use it.
My 5 has been off the charger for an hour and three minutes. I checked all of the notifications but, other than that, it has been sitting on my desk. It is still at 100%. Maybe your issue isn't 7.1.

Check it,nevertheless .... You just need to install iBackupBot

I installed iBackupBot. It's a very useful app. However, I wanted to do a clean install but restore my messages. I tried a few times and it went through the process, but the messages would not appear on my iPhone (they were on the phone as they were taking up space, they just wouldn't appear). In the end I just gave up.

Disclaimer: I haven't read this thread but have read many others.

I'm usually in good cellular and wifi coverage and don't have a problem with battery life (iPhone 5S). I don't stream music or video all day, etc. I just took a two day trip to the coast and through a lot of forest and even though people are told that battery life is affected in low signal areas the amount is pretty amazing. I turned off wifi (never run with Bluetooth on anyway) and went in and out of cellular coverage (phone jumping from LTE to 4G to E and No Service). One day I was at 39% just after lunch. Normally I end the day around 20%.

For me 7.1 consumes my battery more quickly than the last beta. Not good.

After updating to 7.1 I noticed an increase in battery drain. After a week I decided to set up and restore my iPhone 5s as new. This is the result. I ended up getting 8hrs 15mins. I'm 100% happy with this. :)
