Something's wrong here:
iPhone 5:

I charged my iPhone 5 overnight in phonesuits elite battery case with wake up alarm app open all night. I don't know how this happened.
I got this iPhone 5 in 2012 in December.

If that's wrong, I hope my phone's battery is as wrong as that. ;)

Wrong as in not enough, or wrong as in too much... I can make my 5s get those kind of figures, but it's not real world usage. When you say you charged your phone in the battery case, do you mean you normally get better/worse battery life?

I always charge my iPhone 5 in a battery case but recently this happened and I never seen this before. Wrong as in way too much usage. I can't be on my iPhone for that long anyway. This is an old iPhone 5.

I have seen that too-much-usage issue with music streaming with Spotify.

Using beta 4 set up as new phone, charged to 100% stanby 52 mins, 6 mins of usage 96% normal?

Beta 4. Absolutely awful! Didn't play any games or used GPS.

More or less 1/5 is gone after 270 cycles... I even want to get a new battery.

That's not really enough to make any real call on, but it doesn't seem anything out of the ordinary just based on that. You would need to see how much more of the battery usage goes and then observe it over a number of cycles/days to essentially average it out to get a more realistic picture.

Mine right now says:

Usage: 12 Hours, 7 Minutes
Standby 2 Days, 1 Hour

23% battery left.

LTE on
Bluetooth ON
Wifi On
AirDrop on Everyone

Only recently updated to iOS 7. I absolutely despise how it looks. Looks like my three year old cousin went mad with some crayons. And IMO seems so much clunkier than iOS 6.

But battery life has been fantastic. I'm going to bed still with 20-30% battery life.

Can't fault the battery at all.

It doesn't matter what you want. If you think there's a problem: go to the store and check it.

I did exactly that and guess what? They replaced my >1 year old iPhone 5 with a new one (for free), because there was a problem. Also, weak signal can't possibly drain battery that fast.

After seeing this thread I'm happy to see that battery life is improving on 7.1 .. Can't wait for it .. 7.0.4 is ruining my battery

Reset All Settings is a magic battery fix.

Especially on betas. All it does is reset wallpaper, sounds, homesharing, wifi, etc. while leaving alone apps, music/videos/pictures, contacts/calendars/mail, basically all the content. After reset, all you have to do is setup your wallpaper and ringtone and wifi and you get serious improvement in battery.

For some, it can definitely be, and it's certainly worth a try if not much else is working. But, unfortunately it's not always the case nor for everyone.

In my experience Reset All Settings was just a PITA and it didn't solve ANY issue.

Does anyone take into account the signal strength as a drain on battery life?

This.
On my iPhone battery life could be 2 hrs less if I use it in an area with a poor network coverage.

I may start monitoring my 5S to see if there is any improvement with 7.1 but the battery takes me through the day so I haven't felt the necessity.
