So they are going back to sliding buttons instead of text?
Please don't fix things that aren't broken Apple.
I think they realized that it was actually worse as far as user experience goes so they are making changes.

Quite a bit of that in this beta it seems.

General > Accessibility > Increase Contrast

New option 'Reduce White Point' (white slightly slightly duller)

Noticed that too. Not exactly sure of all the implications of it, so trying it out for a day or two to see what it's like.

Font is smaller when typing in an address in Safari. Bolder background on the Private button when selected.

Now the design isn't consistent, though. That makes the user experience more confusing IMHO.

Might be my imagination but I think parallax is a lot more exaggerated and noticeable on the home screen. More movement and the effect seems to jump out a lot more. Before sometimes I didn't really get the 3D feeling and it just looked like things shuffled around a bit. Anyone else feel the same?

I agree. The parallax effect seems much more pronounced now.

There have always been inconsistencies one way or another pretty much all the time, even before iOS 7 as well as in iOS 7.0. If all the sliders are updated to this new format, and all the action buttons are updated to round ones--as most of the other buttons have been already in iOS 7.0, you can say that actually makes it more consistent.

Perhaps they are actually getting to the point of what they advertised it to be all along when they introduced iOS 7.

It's kind of starting to feel like 7.1 is actually getting to the point of where Apple would have wanted 7.0 to be but didn't have the time to get it there for some reason.

Looks like turning bold text on or off requires restart of the device again (it seemed like they changed that in the last beta, but now it's back to how it was before).

Tis weird cos I know other people as well as you said you could turn it on without a restart in beta 2, but it always prompted me to restart if I tried it. (Same in beta 3)

Anyone else getting a list of icons with no text in App Store > Updates > Purchased?

What I don't understand is why some text is red, some yellow, some blue who is in charge of that? One color folks, one color...

Reduce White Point takes the edge off the white tones. Turn your brightness up and as you toggle it on/off you can see the change. It just takes the overly bright tint off the white sections.

Wow! The colour calibration on my iPhone 5 is MUCH better for greens. Before, the Phone and Message icons were a vile lime green. The yellow has been toned down, and they are a bit darker - more like how they look on my old iPhone 4. Pleased with this.

edit: Actually yes, as above poster notes... I think the icons are just darker rather than the general colour calibration being adjusted.

hmm I think perhaps there is a hint of shadow now! Finally.

Well they overhauled iOS in less than a year and they couldn't even get the iPad version out at WWDC due to Jony taking over Scott Forstalls position late 2012 (November-December-ish). I'm surprised they were able to get iOS 7 out when they did and how they did considering how rushed it apparently was according to reports.

I get this when I clear a notification

Can we get a report on how the new beta is functioning on iPads??? The iPad has been the most unstable so far. Are the respringing issues fixed when randomly entering multitasking or the music app??? Those two things seem to have the most complaints outside of iPad air safari crashing.

Thanks!
