Will they ever come out with some actual new useful features instead of this ridiculous tinkering with the minutea of fractional changes to sliders and the like?
Better for them to fix up and improve more of what they can from 7.0 first--quite a bit of what they seem to be doing in iOS 7.

One change I would like to see in the dialer: the backspace button should be moved back down to the keypad. That tiny "X" up to the right of the readout is counter-intuitive and clunky to use.

I was being sarcastic. I couldn't care less about bouncing control panels, nauseating Parallax movement or pretty little icons. Fix the bugs first. Leave this other crap for later.

With so few visual changes, the bulk of these beta updates are actually bug fixes and other behind-the-scenes improvements.

THIS! People have complained about the smaller call button introduced in beta 3 but they forget that the call button in iOS 6 was about the same size. What I don't understand is why Apple would make the button smaller again and not use the freed up space to move those buttons back down to the dialer.

How about..

I'd like to finally hear / talk to Siri in my native language, Dutch, and I'm sure millions of other people would like to do the same in their native languages.

Adding tags, titles, descriptions to photo's and video's is also a feature I'm missing for years.

Could someone kindly confirm that updating betas over the air doesn't "reinstall", reconfigure files back from scratch and that all the present files on phone stay intact?thanks

Now everyone with access to Photoshop thinks is an expert in UI... iOS 7 is years ahead in terms of design, get over it or get a plastic Android phone. Thanks.

The new UK siri voices are just terrible.
They male voice sounds so feminine.

Definitely won't update to this.

So two more weeks gone by and that's it? WOW I really wonder what they do at Apple all day. I wish my project schedules were like that, add three or four little tweaks and call it a day.

What if I could "Show All" on my iTunes Match music ONLY when I'm on wifi, instead of having to switch manually.

What about selecting a wifi network from control center?

Yes, iTunes Match wifi toggling!
Tedious!
Better still would be local transfers.

Did they revert any of the changes they made in beta 3?

Like the new slide to shutdown UI? Or the awful looking new call screen?

Most of the UI changes in 7.1 beta 3 were strange. (except for the green icon hue change and white point reduce, those were nice)

So are you actually running the betas right now or going off of what's reported on sites like this? As far as I'm concerned making an app icon a lighter/darker shade of green is not newsworthy but sites like this and 9to5Mac seem interested in focusing on what I would consider is trivial stuff. There weren't enought visual changes to warrant a separate front page story IMO. But people see it and assume that's all Apple is working on.

First sentence of the article: iOS 7.1 DOES contain bug fixes.

You do know what the tip of an iceberg looks like, don't you?

How nice to see Jony Ive using his access to 500 million i-Devices as an opportunity to teach himself UI design !!!!!

By the time iOS 8 is released, iOS 7 may finally be out of beta!

But yeah, the level of UI/UX incompetency in iOS 7 across the board is shocking. I thought they would have quickly addressed this stuff by the 2nd update, but here we are on 7.1 with Apple still dribbling out a few tweaks at a time.

The changes to the two slide controls both look second rate. Small fonts and lack of contrast are amateurish mistakes.

Best update ever. While I don't like the new slide to unlock animation, I'm loving the female voice option for Siri in the UK. I use maps for GPS on a daily basis and the male voice was making me want to kill myself.

Something New?

Since beta 4 all of my apps that use geofencing are now enabled without the app actually being opened. Even after a restart its behaving the same way.

WOW ... up to six Beta releases to decide on slide to unlock and dialer circles ... now that's delivering the goods.

What would we do without out all those Betas. Just WOW.
