iPhone 5s has locked up several times and required a hard restart. Pandora won't play more than 1 song. It was going good for 24 hours until this all started happening today.

It's working GREAT on my iPhone 5. Loving it so far. I'll post back if I see any bugs, but the bugs that I did see seem to be gone.

I still think the music app should have looked like the Remote App music

Unfortunately we can wish all we want. Apple has made a choice and now this is probably just the way it will be for a while. iOS8 will be all the features added that we want or were missing from iOS 7.

7.1 is further proof of this since it very much a bug fix. iOS 8 will most likely focus on ultra refinement.

Why would they take away our ability to change the text tone? I can't even use any classic tone besides Tri-tone.

Think about it a little...it's a beta...think it might just be a bug?

It. is. a. beta.

Beta or not its a point release. I mean that is like basic phones 101 that they have sounds that you can choose from. If I recall iOS 7 b1-b6, ios 7 GM, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3, 7.0.4 all had that piece of code intact but somehow in 7.1 b1 they missed it somehow. Well its possible I suppose. More likely they actually removed code for txt tones to deter regular users from installing it before its released. Makes no since that THAT could be a missed bug. I doubt they start from scratch with each new release but build on the current release. Still seems odd that that piece would be broken in a .1 release beta or not. My 2cents.

When you change code, other code is susceptible to being broken. Obviously, something they've changed caused this issue with the tones. It's not a big deal at the moment as this beta is only being used by developers, not the public. They know about the issue and it will not be present in the final release. It shouldn't even be a concern to anyone as the only people it is effecting are developers who understand beta issues.

It's called a regression of some sort--something they were working on affected the functionality of sounds inadvertently. Happens all the time with software even when simple bug fixes are made for something even unrelated, and in this case there are actual new features being added, so even more code is being touched. It's so completely not unusual that something like this is practically expected in a beta release.

OK points taken. and I get that. And you are correct Tyler its not a big deal and folks who know what Betas are shouldn't be upset. BTW I am not nor am I complaining about it. Just making a statement. Just a strange piece to be broken when the entire rest of the iOS seems pretty put together especially for a beta. Perhaps we will be getting new tones with the release and that's why its missing at the moment :)

Complain about bugs in actual releases. Like how for some reason that media syncing bug has persisted through three iOS 7 releases and four iTunes releases over six months.

Dear god. If Apple ever makes a black or dark theme I'll never complain again.

Dark keyboard + reduce transparency = pure sexy

#blackout

Can we please stop with the "ITS A BETA" crap? A TON of things that people were concerned about 7.0 betas are still not fixed while all the nay sayers spewing the "its a beta".

Apple is just trying to make the devices not crash at this point. Features are clearly secondary to the form over the function.

iOS 8 will be the system that adds some nice features.

Mercy.... Apple warns of beta on production devices and to expect erratic behavior. Quit expecting GM performance on Beta releases.

Regression bug is what most will experience so if you are a dev, report it and move on. Posting your complaints here will only warrant someone (like myself) telling you "It's a beta".

If you don't want to experience bugs on your device then why are you installing betas? They don't purposely remove your ability to hear your text sounds; they screwed up and need notified to remedy it in Beta 2. Help them out.

Ummm, but 7.1 is a Beta. If you want to complain about people saying "It's a Beta" in an actual Release that is one thing, but to complain that people are reminding users they installed a BETA.... that's just idiotic. I assume you aren't a developer. I have to remind users all the time that they are using Beta software when doing UAT testing for me. That's the nature of software development. You make a lot of chances, fix a lot of code, and sometimes you inadvently break something you didn't even think would have an affect. This my friend is what we call the BETA period.

Now when they software to the public (i.e. non-testers) then that is when it isn't a Beta.

EDIT: And many of the complaints about broken items are new broken functionality, because oh yeah IT'S A BETA. Want GM Quality? Don't install a Beta...

If there's a bug in 7.1 beta that wasn't fixed in 7.0 then make a bug report related to 7.1. Perhaps they will assign it to a developer and it gets fixed in b2. Be part of the solution.

Guess I need to clarify. Things like the "choppy ipad pinch animations" that have finally been addressed after 3 months of iOS 7 betas, full release and 4 .0 releases were being ridiculed by people using the "its a beta" blanket statement. Its not an excuse as many have made it. "Quit bitching, its a beta". Im saying its getting old. Obviously bugs are bugs. But features that are broken, or only half work the way they have for years are not the "bugs" Im referring to. Its lost or broken functionality of the smoothness Apple is known for.

I have faith that things will get sorted out. But just saying its a beta is becoming an excuse for too many things.

Getting error (1667) when updating to this, don't have a clue why, searched about, few people saying not enough memory, don't see how this could be considering i have over 5GB free

Edit: It would appear closing iTunes and re-opening it is a good solution.
