Think about it a little...it's a beta...think it might just be a bug?

...until it is officially released and you find out it was deliberately removed. THAT is when you'll say, " no big deal... Gotta upgrade to 7.1, you don't want to be a caveman stuck with 7.0"

When laggy animations were present with the 7.0 betas, you (or someone with the same mindset) dismissed the complaints as "it's a beta". When 7.0 went live and the lag was still there, it was dismissed as no big deal... And the lag is still there with the 7.1 beta.

Being an apologist for Apple helps Apple but does little for the customer.

Sorry, but comparing something like this to "laggy" animations (that not everyone even experiences) or icons or whatnot--essentially design decisions for the most part--is simply not the same thing--completely different types of issues and effects on the OS/user.

The problem of lumping everything under "it's a beta" isn't exactly that much different than taking every bug (most of which are truly beta related and get fixed) and blowing it out of proportion, especially in the very early stages with only a single beta to go on. There are plenty of times when "it's a beta" is more than applicable (and there are quite a few times when it's not)...when it comes to something like this, at least with only beta 1 to go on, it's definitely applicable.

Not a clue where any apologising for any one is happening...seems like some personal spin is being put on various things by people, as is often the case unfortunately.

When THAT happens then you have the right to complain. Like we do with bugs that weren't fixed by release. Like the laggy iPad animations and the music syncing bug. The complaints become VALID once it's in public release. In a beta: Chalk it up to it most likely being fixed in the next beta, file a radar if you think no one else has noticed. With a bleeding obvious bug like this you are probably not alone though. Whining in these forums helps exactly no one.
