I love everything about it except the music app. I have a large collection of Dave Matthews Band live and studio albums (don't judge) and when I select the artist, it takes forever to load the songs and albums, and sometimes crashes the music app all together. This is because Apple insisted on changing to artist view, which sucks.

U just reminded me, 7.0.4 also makes EVERYTHING crash a lot more often

I'm sick of reading about people who experience no battery life issues with their i5 running iOS7.
Myself, two family members and four friends (basically EVERYONE I know who has an iPhone 5) are ALL experiencing dreadful battery life since we installed iOS7. My sister has none of the same apps I do and we've both done numerous clean installs!
How long is it now since iOS7 was released? We have all been tolerating lousy battery life for months now and I had expected a 'fix' ages ago. What gives?

Finally someone who makes sense.......

Anyone with lousy battery life thought of not using the Facebook App and using safari and the mobile site instead? I could literally hit refresh on the app and it would drop the battery by 1% every single time. It's a bloated resource hog that eats 100s of Mb of space for caching and at no point has it been as useful as the mobile version of the site.

iOS 7's regular crashes and battery issues are becoming very frustrating.

I didn't notice a change in battery life on my iPhone 4 after upgrading from iOS 6 to iOS 7, but the battery on the iPhone 4S I purchased just this week has been terrible. The parallax effect and glassy transparency effects, which the iPhone 4 did not have, seem to be the cause.

I have a MAJOR Battery problem on my iphone 5 and I can't wait until 7.1
This is truly a freaking nightmare that my battery can only last around 5~ minutes
And before the 7.0.4 update it lasted around 4-7 hours

The space an app takes up doesn't really specifically have a relationship to battery use. That said, for some there can be apps that cause some issues. For others it can be unrelated to apps.

The space isn't the issue though is it? It's the fact it sucks battery life at a rate of -1% every time you so much as refresh the newsfeed.

Right, not the space, but that. Although that doesn't seem to be something that is necessarily widespread.

5mins?? Seriously? If true you have a hardware issue, or you are being ridiculously inaccurate. I would take it to an Apple Store if thats the case.

How can it NOT be widespread? iPhone5 + iOS7 + Facebook App = Problem. Can't be 100,000s of people with that combination experiencing the same issues (unless they don't realise what app is causing their battery to drain and to them it's Apple's fault?)

I have a couple of iPhone 5 phones with iOS 7 and Facebook, and the battery is working fine on them. I'm certainly not saying that people aren't having those issues--in fact that's exactly what I mentioned in my earlier replies--I'm saying that not everyone by far is having them. It seems like there are more reports with people that have iPhone 5 phones and iOS 7 that have battery issues, unrelated to Facebook, but even those aren't widespread (in the sense of happening to the majority of users).

I initially had some battery issues with iOS7 on my 4S, but these seemed to have largely disappeared. I wonder if it has something to do with the way Apple tries to optimise the background activities on the iPhone. I believe that this probably result sin some sort of schedule being set up for checking e-mail etc. I wonder if those having battery issues do not have a regular enough schedule so that this kind of optimisation works.

Don't know if this helps, but one thing I noticed that kills my battery on my iPhone 5S is the Settings->General->Background App Refresh. For me, turning that off made a big difference.

I think some people don't have a battery drain issue, but I can guarantee that most of us do
Or it could easily even be that more likely most people don't have a battery drain issue, while some do.

Unplugged my phone at 3:30. While the usage has only been 1 hour, the percentage is at 84%. Not bad for 7 hours with light usage.

This is more likely. Far more people are vocal about something when it affects them in a negative way.

My battery is great on iOS 7.0.4

But when I jailbreak 7.0.4 the battery becomes horrible. Dieing randomly & tweaks also draining the battery. Something needs to improve.

Every single person I know in 'real life' who owns an iPhone has experienced battery issues since installing iOS7 and continue to do so. Only certain people online seem to be ok...
I will take real world experience as being the way it is. We have all done clean installs, set up as a new phone, switched certain battery hogging features off etc and still get 2/3 (at best) of the battery life we used to enjoy. Before the clean installs we were getting 50% of the battery life we enjoyed using iOS6.

I feel like my battery lasts forever.

"feels" like and it literally doing it are two different things, one which is impossible, the literal part and the battery more than likely last for less than 7-8~ hrs.

I hated iOS 7, since its grown on me but I still do despise the music app myself.

I have a large collection of E40 and 2PAC albums hehe.

i dont think you can change your profile picture or put a new picture from the mobile site though?

Hardly worth keeping the app around though is it?

The inability to reply to comments directly, the lousy caching, it's got progressively worse by the update. At one point it even had a nice easy list of your friends and pages on tabs, it's a steaming pile of app as far as I'm concerned.
