So is there another reason you're here or do you just like bashing products you don't like? Seriously, I curse Windows and Office every time I use it. Boom - is your anecdotal evidence any more important than mine? No.

Hey, I still use macs as my main computers and an iPhone 4S. I just think iOS 7 is a pathetic joke, and so is apple for these stupid tricks to push people to upgrade to it. I think OSX and iOS 6 are fantastic.

If you don't like an opinion different from yours, maybe you should be in a support group instead of an internet forum.

iOS 7.1 Update Due 'Any Day Now' With Support for SXSW App

I think you misunderstand the purpose of a forum.

It's not to rail on a product. It's about exchanging ideas. I have no problem with alternative opinions (though you seem to ignore any of us who present a somewhat decent picture of iOS 7), but if you have issues with something there's a way to present that opinion....

Usually "OMG iOS7 sucks and is pathetic - all my coworkers hate Apple, we're all happier with Windows" isn't the way to do it....

And my overall point is - if you feel that way, you'd be much happier with other products. There's lots of great options out there. Those of us who understand what iOS 7 is and who actually like and appreciate the advances taken are content to see how it progresses.

That's all the calm and common sense I'll lay on y'all tonight - don't want anyone overwhelmed...

And when a novice user who wants it to "just work" gets a message that the app they need to run is forbidden, they're supposed to know that? When it ran just fine before their HDD crash and warranty work and after it doesn't work. They didn't even know about gatekeeper.

I wasn't telling them, I was letting you know for your own benefit. Presumably the developer includes all the necessary bits to prevent this from happening, especially since it's a simple fix (on their side, I mean).

I had a similar situation in Windows 7 due to some graphics drivers that weren't WHQL-certified and they wouldn't run...well they still won't run, because of it (think of it like running your computer in Safe Mode 24/7).

The new pages is garbage when you're trying to do well-formated business documents and not jotting down notes like in say notes.

I happen to find the new Pages layout extremely awkward to navigate and poorly designed, but...what the hay, I'll take the bait:

  • What things can Pages not do that are required for your business documents?
  • What (in a business document) is Pages garbage for, that it wasn't already garbage for to begin with?
  • Most businesses stick to MS Office, even on Mac, for better compatibility with clients and because iWork was already...well...less business-centric to begin with. Why isn't that already in use on all computers?
  • What kind of a business doesn't back up their computers (both Windows and Mac) regularly?

Sounds like iOS 7.1 will be the Snow Leopard of the iOS world. With months of work and devs testing the crap out of it, it's sure to be incredibly stable.

The perfect foundation for iOS 8. :D

go Apple @ SXSW :).

However, again, when Apple doesn't mention a date. They just look up at the sky in vague and say "Any day now." well.... that's always bad...

I'm not a negative nelly, but Apple would have said an "estimated date" if they would be sure... Seems, there not sure about anything now-a-days.

This from the company who wouldn't tell you when Christmas is coming. It's a life long tactic from them. Nothing strange here.
