I know it's not in any way Apple's fault, and that we all raised our hopes based on speculation, but nonetheless I'm pretty disappointed it wasn't released today.

Huh, it's looking like we may not get iOS 7.1 until the END of March. Look at the first few tweets. Source below, although not sure how credible it is:

I am running 7.1 atm and for me this is a tiny update :)
Experienced the first springboard crash last week since iOS 7.0 beta 1!
iOS 8 will be more exiting :)

OK, I'll rephrase that. For people running iOS 7.0.6, it's a big update.

March was the only time frame given so that is a possibility but i still hope they release it this week or early next week.

so have any iOS updates been released on a thursday? just wondering what the chances are for a release tomorrow. friday i know they have released updates based on when iOS 7.0.6 came out.
As good as the chances of it being released any other day during this week or perhaps next week or perhaps even later.

iOS 6.1 came out on a Monday, so I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that day, if there is a GM it would probably be on Friday.

iOS 7.1 is longest wait for a .1 version.

Wow you get mad about such a "tiny" update.
I think someone should start a thread "iOS 8, Where Art Thou?" :)

For everyone that is annoyed by refreshing the software update all the time just follow this account: https://mobile.twitter.com/iOSRelease within seconds after the update is released you will have a notification :)
Is it really updated within seconds of the release becoming available?

Because John Gruber, one of the most highly respected Apple bloggers, said so. Also, in the past Apple has released the iTunes Festival app about one week before the Festival started. And in case you haven't noticed, it's not out yet. I wonder why?

So if John Gruber told you to jump off of a bridge.......ah forget it.

Different for everyone. I have no problems with the iPad mini on 7.0.6.

By the way does anyone know how many people work for apple in the iOS developing section ?

This dude Jason has no idea what he's talking about. He's going off the fact that Apple has to change the App Store purchase flow by March 31st.

Might as well expect a Warewolf by the next full moon because Dean and Sam said so!

OK, that's why I said "not sure how credible it is".

I mean, are you serious? Of course not, because John Gruber isn't an expert on the survivability of bridge jumping. However, if John Gruber says that 7.1 is going to be released soon, it's likely true.

If Neil Degrasse Tyson says that the movie "Gravity" has scientific inconsistencies, it's probably true.

It's not just "some guy on twitter" but someone that consistently makes correct statements about Apple's product plans, and is widely known to have credible sources. It's really not that hard to understand.

Yep. I would bet more money on that than the update being released on Friday or Monday. :D

Just noticed that the link was wrong :p

Seems like they are pretty quick, but hard to say if that's always consistent or faster than other places in general. For example, MacRumor's article about iOS 7.1 beta 2 seems to have been published at least about 5 minutes before that account tweeted about it. And the account doesn't even have any mention of iOS 7.1 beta 1 being released. So, while it seems like a potentially useful resource, I'm not sure it's something that trumps everything else necessarily.

My research about them was not as intense as yours :)
First time I used them was for 7.1 beta 5, there they were faster than anyone on this forum.
But as you said it seems that it is not always this case.
According to their website it refreshes every minute. I guess that's how they figure out so fast that it is available to x devices.

Pretty hilarious how it took 6 months to get its to "not crash" and show apple logos all the time because of sloppy springboard coding . That should have been the 7.0.1 update.
