I installed beta 3 through ipsw on iTunes manually .. I'm afraid to reset everything and it's still not work.. I mean what's the point if you're usually going to redownload the apps you had.. Has anybody found resetting your iPhone a cure for the battery lost?!?..

Just reset all settings. That won't delete any of your apps or files.

Did OTA yesterday.

Usage 4hrs
Standby 14hrs 25 minutes

40% battery left

Was in a weak cell and wifi area for most of the morning. Used iTunes Radio, ran 3 speed tests, email push. and very light surfing. Have had multiple apps going.

Planning on doing a fresh install this afternoon. Everything has been turned on, except bluetooth, which I rarely have need for.

Thus far, it is on par with what I was getting with beta 2, which was 7 - 8 hrs.

Battery life seems to be consistent (7-9 hours depending on use) for both my iPad and iPhone 5. Both running B3 but had been running B2

I'd love to see your comparison after a fresh install! My OTA seems to be fairly normal, but the battery is so quick..

I'm getting really good battery life... I ota'd from beta 2 and have everything on....

This is weird. I too am getting impossibly good battery life on B3. Still at 100% after an hour of light use. Updated OTA and have everything on except for bluetooth...

Did you check Location Services and Siri? OTA update disabled those for me. If you enable those, battery life should suffer a little bit.

But only a little bit - incomparably less than, say, the OTA upgrade did when upgrading b1 to b2.

That is, disabling Location Services hasn't been very important in any iOS betas - it wouldn't result in some major battery life increase. As opposed to making clean installs and/or resetting all settings.

That may be your experience, but when I went from b1 to b2 i forgot to check Location Services for a day, and I was scratching my head all day long wondering why the battery was performing so well :D. After I realized that LS was turned off and i turned it on, there was a noticeable drop in battery life. That's my experience.
Plus, this beta is different than before, and has a couple of new additions to Location Services (Popular Near Me, and Frequent Locations) which both increase the usage of GPS.

----------

Both are enabled!

That's great. That was the case for me when going from b1 to b2, even once I turned on most Location Services (except for Diagnostics, Location iAds) I saw a huge improvement over b1. Most people still had issues in b2, so it sounds like b3 might have helped a bit more.

BTW, this may be the answer to the OTA problems: instead of resetting all settings, simply disabling LS could suffice. (Haven't tested this myself as, after seeing how bad battery drain I had after the b1 -> b2 OTA upgrade, I don't use OTA any more.)

You must come from Glasgow in Scotland.

They'll fry anything in batter up there !!!

Haha. Whoops. :) My bad. An update for my battery, I haven't charged it since 7:30 pm and it's now 2:15 am. My charge is at 31%. I used it quite a bit too. Gaming, Whatsapp, and Facebook mostly with Wi-Fi on the whole time.

True! My battery life wasn't bad with B2, but it is fantastic here. I'm at 80%, 6 hours on, sporadic usage with Wi-Fi/4G.

Phenomenal !!

Getting some excellent results here .. Only disabled location and background refresh for weather and stocks ... Rest all is running like mail, fb, whatsapp, etc..

This is from overnight with few messages and mail received ...

I'm glad everyone is getting such good battery life. :( my phone died around 2pm with a little over 3 hours usage. Worse battery life for me yet.

Maybe I'm cursed

My battery life is definitely worse than beta 2. Right now, I'm on 2 hours 10 minutes of usage, and 13 hours and 31 minutes of standby and I am at 50% battery.

Must say that this is the first beta that has returned my previously good iP5 battery life (with OTA install and no wipe).

I could run down the previous beta's pretty fast if I used the phone a lot and I would usually go from 6am to 10pm leaving around 20-40% on an average day (seemed to drain a lot searching for signal when I was in my low reception office, 3G turned off). Yesterday I ended the same period with 73% which was around how I was on iOS5 and this morning at 9:30am I am still at 100% with just a little use in 3.5 hours.

Iphone 5 ...full charge at 1 pm and at 1230 am was at 20% and I use my phone a lot texts and games and a few phone calls great battery life so far
