Who is complaining? This is a DISCUSSION forum.

If you read the thread you will see a few people complaining

----------

In fairness, this forum is dedicated to iOS 7 discussions. Nothing wrong with submitting a bug report and discussing it here as well.

If you submit a bug report and discuss it here, then yes, no problem at all. But I doubt the ones I saw complaining report anything

I've only had my phone respring once since installing beta 3. Beta 1 it would respring about 5-10 times a day. Beta 2 1-2 times a day. Once for Beta 3. Just once. And the battery life is awesome.

Clean install, btw.

I don't agree. Beta 1 lasted 5 hours on my iPhone 5 and beta 2 not even 20 minutes (couldn't restore backup without crashing so I downgraded immediately to ios 6). All the previous betas have been slow as hell and just overall unusable due to terrible battery life, anorexic fonts, heating issues, and overall lag.

Beta 3 is actually very usable, it's been on my phone since Monday and I'm enjoying it. I still prefer ios 6 but apple is doing really well at the moment so let's have confidence.

One of the main noticeable things that are worse in beta 3 are the non-delivered calls--it seems to be affecting at least some users since they've gotten beta 3 (perhaps primarily on Verizon). Very odd and rather bad issue that seems to be something new in beta 3 now.

There was an error in beta-2 that locked you out of the phone completely. beta three doesn't do that it's already way better because there isnt the threat of just completely losing all your access to your phone

OP I was thinking about making the same observation. Beta 3 has some workarounds for stability on the 4 and 4S phones so people think it's better, but I see trends of people missing calls and their phones going into DFU mode and a few other things that have made me stay away from it. It's great that people see it as better and I'm looking forward to the next one.

IOS 7 Beta 3 !!!

IOS7 beta 3 seems to be the best beta update till date !
improved everything,
battery life,
spring board speed,
wi-fi connection,
everything !
its seems stable !

need a lil more improvements but the next update will have it all !

waiting for beta 4 !!

Reply if your too waiting for beta 4 too !

iOS7 beta 3 is awesome for me on iPhone5 compared to beta 1&2.

Those having issues may try installing beta 3 without using previous backup and see the difference.

It is very weird as it appears to have different impact on a different phones.

Here is screenshot of my phones battery usage today (I have posted somewhere else too)

Looks like you just played music all day or surfed with only Wi-Fi antenna on with minimum brightness.

iPhone can't do 7 hours of regular usage with screen-on time, unless it's in airplane mode.

To OP: install Beta 3 fresh. No restoring from backup. I've been using the phone on LTE all day (no music, mid brightness, all antennas on plus Bluetooth) and my battery is at 15%. Usage time reported is over 3 hours.

Before this, when I just did an OTA, the phone would get blazing hot and I'd get maybe an hour and a half of usage, and in standby it'd drop 10% an hour. Key is: you don't OTA with beta software. You do a fresh install and forget restoring from backups. Also, turn on Reduce Movement, turn off background updates.

Wrong. When I play music i do surf the net I use other apps too at the same time but this this is not the case here. Wifi only when I am at home and several coffe places. At work is only 3G. The standby time is during the night.I used it mostly at work were I can't listen to the music.

For me beta 1 was good and pretty stable, beta 2 was okay but crashed sometimes, beta 3 is awsome and extremely stable for me

You have no idea who has and hasn't submitted bug reports.

Beta 3 on my 4S is pretty reliable! Not smooth by any means but not bad for a beta!

Even with iOS 6.1.3
I always had times where my cellular signal is great and the phone doesn't ring. And randomly a voicemail pops up. So I would say its Beta 3 that's causing that problem.

For me beta 2 was incredibly unstable, messages app locked up a lot and phone randomly restarted quite often. Beta 3 seems to have fixed all issues for me. Running uber stable.

Well I had to do it. I'm back on beta 2.

My issues with beta 3:

  • Thicker font looked ugly, especially the bigger status bar on lock screen
  • Funky transparency/overlapping issues with keyboard and status bar sometimes
  • Notifications often did not display in Notification Center
  • Phone randomly went into DFU mode, causing me to almost miss a time-sensitive text I was waiting for
  • Received a voicemail without the phone call

None of those issues happened at all in beta 1 and 2.

The first 3 have been annoyances since Monday. The last 2 were what drew the line and caused me to revert to beta 2. I can deal with annoyances, but I cannot deal with completely missed calls and texts, not even knowing that I've missed them.

Beta 2 is much more stable and functional to me. Now I'm off to report a bunch of bugs to the Apple dev site. I hope beta 4 throws away beta 3 and builds upon beta 2.

The first two were in beta 1 actually, at least the larger status bar on the locked screen and weird overlapping/transparency issues here and there. The last three are certainly mostly new to beta 3 and are more troublesome.

Beta 1 had the thinner font just like beta 2. Larger status bar font never appeared until beta 3 for me, and was also the first time I read about it as well.

The thicker font is definitely new, but yeah the larger status bar on the locked screen was there in beta 1, disappeared in beta 2, and made a return in beta 3.
