Surely they release a new beta when they've got enough changes committed, I doubt they schedule it a week and a half in advance.

I love the iPhone 5 with iOS7.

Apple couldn't have done it better.

Dumped Android and now I'm back and loving it.

PS: There's NOTHING to fix regarding icons. Shut up if you like to live in the 20th century.

Well that is you're opinion so why don't you shut up. IMHO the new icons are butt fugly because I'm not a 12 year old girl that likes pastel colors, I'm an adult professional and prefer more subtle colors. I'm also not sold on them wanting to make it look boring and flat like an android device, if I wanted android I would buy a device that supported it.

You clearly haven't used it. But, if you prefer anything else that does not seem to exist, then you should create it yourself instead.

iOS 7 Beta 4 Reportedly Coming precisely a fortnight later than that.

BOOM! - "news"

There, just made my own "news" story in an instant...

The only problem I have is with the Facebook app, it keeps closing when I try writing something while on iOS 7

So what makes you think I "clearly haven't used it"? I think the new UI is an attempt to make iOS look more "androidish" and the a lot of the colors used are hideous. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about when referencing me so maybe NOT assuming things would be a good start for you..... What you think?

Does it fix the palette? I mean seriously did they make this UI for unicorns and fairies? Then there's the fact that some icons just look plenty worse. What's with the camera icon or Game Center (Are those bubbles? Gaming -> Bubbles, hmm, the logic is truly unparalleled)? And don't get me started on Settings.
See, he gets it!

iOS 7 beta 3

On a side note, guess BGR's sources were pretty unreliable about the whole update thing. Guess naming your site MacRumors keeps you covered on reporting bad info. Doesn't help BGR none tho.

Why do you think the design is muddled? Maybe you didn't try iOS7, or you're stuck in the rules. Some rules are meant to be broken if it's done with some class. They're classy.

Some of the icons are ok but others display poor choice of colour, weak use of metaphor, and there is still unhelpful skeuomorphism in some of the icons. If this is a first draft then ok but I think much work needs to be done to create a well designed, consistent icon set. Just designing one simple clean looking icon is a lot of work so the whole set is a huge task but I hope there is some refinement of the current effort in time for release.

Which colors are troubling you? Other than the icons, most of the color comes from your background. There are no really hideous colors in the icons. I think he thought you haven't used it because your criticism is quite vague (and still is).

My opinion: I don't think it's a "bad" design, I just hope in final release, apple takes all these concerns and possibly tones down SOME of the colors (especially the green). Some are just TOO bright and hurt the eyes and make some text hard to read comfortably. Take the green call banner for example. It's simply TOO bright for the eyes to comfortably read the text at a glance.

The design of the icons are fresh and nice. The flat look is clean and appreciated. The transparency look is VERY nice, fun and really does personalize each phone based on individuals scheme/art. The colors....just need some slight tweaking. That's all. The direction apple is taking is different, yes, but given social demand, is much needed.

I will say, using iOS 6 after using iOS7 feels "heavy"(if that makes sense). Granted iOS 6 is snappier, smoother, and faster, keep in mind it's finished and polished. We yet to see what iOS 7 has to bring as a polished finished product. I for one am looking forward to the finished release.

I'm currently running ios7 beta 2 on my iphone4 and everything is running fine. But ive found that live backgrounds are not present on my phone anywhere in the settings and I was curious if anyone else with an iphone4 has noticed that live backgrounds are missing.

I don't think dynamic wallpapers are available on the iphone4. I think it's 4s and up. Can anyone else validate this for him?

^^I agree!!!

This is my biggest compliant...if they don't tone down the lime greens and pinks then I will keep IOS 6. They went a bit overboard with not only the pastel colors but also the whites..this leads to it being too bright and neon... To the point that it makes reading the texts hard to see. This is a big enough issue to keep me in IOS 6.

As for the icons, I think this redesign mockup really nails it. Some depth, keeping the flat style, consistent, and beautiful. Apple should really hire some of these artists on dribbble instead of reaching out to their marketing team, which are good at.........marketing........to redesign app icons. It's like asking a waiter to cook a meal like a professional chef should. They'll probably make it, but it will never be the same thing.

Interesting how you think a blank white rectangle outline is a better icon for photos than a modern derivative of the sunflower people are already used to.

Game Center reminds me of the Microsoft logo so NO GO.

I also don't like the exaggerated shadows. Make no sense.

Why does the Mail envelope have a red line on it? Does that make it a FANCIER envelope?

Why the HELL would the Apple Maps icon have a GOOGLE maps map pin icon on it? MAJOR FAIL.

Sorry, I don't like your icon examples. They are obviously created by an Apple hater for all the reasons I noted. Or the designer is truly clueless about branding.

If the colors on the new iOS icons were tones down just a little and a subtle shadow was placed behind them, I think they would really pop and stand out. Especially in combination with the parallax effect.

Got enough with beta ios7

Apparently, Apple decided to give it a try releasing Beta for IOS7 without being very sure of its very (more than what you can expect) unstable version.

Now there is a second beta version that was released a few days ago, which corrects some of the bugs, I was happy somehow, but, other apps that were working nice now dont work at all,.

I had enough of the ios7 and decided to downgrade to 6.1.3 just holding on to a new beta release and see if everything continues well.

I know, I am a developer and I am supposed to know that there will be bugs and stability setbacks, although I am going to wait a few more updates...

At least he's a DESIGNER, not somebody in Apple marketing trying to do icons.

Game Center icon is a million times better than the current Apple one. What do bubbles have to do with games? At least the flat blocks (non-gradients) work well AND give a sense of legos or something.

Oh, just because it's a pin makes it Google? Well, "iOS 7 is a copy of Android"
so that's okay (according to a thread on here)!

It's not an Apple hater, it's someone who challenges Apple's terrible icon redesign (from a designer standpoint, Apple's is terrible - they have NO coherence).
