makes sense having balls as a signal indicator. we got used to use the bar word to measure the signal 'i just have 2 bars'.... maybe apple can change the language here also

I've got balls, how about you?

Now for something completely different: I sent a bug report to Apple complaining about the fact that the new Messages app doesn't display time stamps; it shows only one time stamp per day, but not timestamps on individual messages. Now they're asking me if it happens on beta 3 too - this is weird because to me this looks totally intentional, and I see it on all messages, there's no timestamps anywhere. Does anyone else see this?

Swipe your finger to the left. They are there. Just hidden.

Ofcourse it is.

You know that probably 95% of Apple employees are using AT&T. With such a short carrier name, they'll never notice that overlap.

Oh, and it looks bad :).

Still not a UI bug. It's screen limitation. Carriers need to be shorter, or let people edit their carrier text (like Springtomize does).

You can't make it not overlap with long carriers unless you shorten it, hide the arrow (which would defeat the purpose), or make the text smaller (which would look bad).

I can delete specific messages within a text.
Broken in beta 2.

But it still crashes the app from time to time when I delete them.

Not working for me

try resetting your phone, and try again.
just play the youtube video in Safari (I use desktop mode..try that?)
and go home, bring up control center, and hit play.
of it still doesn't work, maybe it's just for ipad?

3rd party lightning cable won't charge...anyone else?

For the first time, 3rd party lightning cable gets message about not being certified and will not charge, even though it looks like it should be charging. It will sync, but will not charge.

Previous to iOS 7 beta 3 (including iOS 6), I had this message if I connected the cable to phone first, then USB end to power, ...workaround was to plug in USB to power first, then phone, no message and it charged fine.

(iPhone 5, A1428/AT&T)

Uhh, EXACTLY like the UI that already exists in iTunes, the podcast app, Videos, etc...
It makes perfect sense as soon as you see it. And stop whining that no-one will see it. Everybody in the world these days has friends who propagate out this sort of information.

Stop whining about something your brain can't understand. This dot is not
intuitive and useless.

I just discovered this one. Turn on Voiceover. Go to the app switcher. Touch an app and it says "Appname - running". Slide over to an older app and it just says "Appname". This is the only way to tell a running app from a non-running one..

You mean, like every photograph with a border ever, for the past 100+ years?

Yes that.... Maybe i need glasses, or maybe my eyes are strained from sitting in front of a computer for much of my life. I just prefer the dark backgrounds and to be honest not all that fond of the new photos app - it's just not as easy to use. I can immediately picture my father updating to the new iOS7 and literally throwing his phone against the wall.

I love 7 - its an amazing update - but too bright in too many areas..

The lightning bolt tells me its plugged in and charging. I'm severely red/green color blind so lay off the color coding. I'm color blind to the point that the LEDs that change from red to green when a device is charged always look the same to me.

Fine, I can accommodate you, just give me the lightning bolt back in the battery icon. It takes up too much space this way. (That and the new signal strength dots!).

I'm just saying they pretty much show charging with the color, the thermometer bar and a lightning bolt. Just combine them to take less real estate...

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect APPLE to produce a beta that at a minimum has decent battery life. We aren't talking about some small niche company here, it's APPLE for **** sake. Stop giving them a free pass on everything.

It's not a free pass because it's Apple. IT'S A FREE PASS BECAUSE IT'S BETA.
