Yeah... I can't get the signal to go down. It's stuck on 5. (It's usually 4-5 at my house, but 1-2 at my aunt's, where it continues to be on 5)

Its a setting within the radio parameters which define the range of signal reception for each bar ... its a number to visual representation which they seem to have now changed ... Nothing big to talk about here , it may change back in next beta or GM or never !

I have the Att and a Tmo Version. Tmo version now gets full bars when before it only got 1 to 2.

Att version seems to be the same as b3.

That was my original position too, that they'd changed the way they report signal strength.

I'm wavering, however, toward a radio tweak as I seem to be getting a cell/mobile reception in places I definitely had none at all before on iOS 6 or any of the betas until 4.

3 UK here iPhone 5 and I'm getting much better speeds since Beta 4. Used to get 3mb 2 bars now I'm getting 5 with 7/8mb - They've increased the power to the antenna by the looks of it, not a bug. That would effect battery life but getting much better results than Beta 3.

my verizon iphone 4 test unit im using shows the correct amount of bars for where i am now. ill see what my verizon iphone 5 shows once i finish the install.

EDIT: my iphone is reflecting the correct signal strength as well.

I fixed mine by putting the phone in airplane mode for a few seconds and then switching back.

I'm on T-Mobile iphone5 I ran the field test ( just dial *3001#12345#* in phone app). It sows -106 even thou I have 5 dots.

Same. Did the field test mode and I have -104, yet still have 5 dots of service reported. Something seems wrong here...

Just can't get it to indicate anything but 5 dots, when I know there should be less.

Did you guys tried turning on/off airplane mode? mine is been working fine after that...

I am the opposite. I have less bars (dots) and actually have No Service showing up every day since beta 3.

I see 5 dots while out (off my street) but never when in the house. I used to have 4 pretty consistently except in a corner of my kitchen.

iPhone 4S VZW.

Has anyone noticed a problem with tower switching and LTE. For example, I have an AT&T iPhone 5. Sometimes when I handshake from tower to tower I lose LTE and the phone just shows AT&T with full bars and no data. I can't access the internet…however, if I turn LTE off and then toggle airplane mode, the phone will come back up with 4G service and I can access data…

iPhone 5, Rogers, signal 5 inside microwave with door shut, go figure.

I just put my iPhone 5 into a metallic box(which I tested before with a bunch of different phones, they usually either lose signal or have 1 bar left(in the -100 range). My iPhone 5 did drop bars, so it's definitely not stuck!

Anyone else still experiencing this issue on Beta 5? I noticed the baseband and AT&T carrier files were updated but I'm still having the issue. 5 bars where I'm sitting where it used to be just 2...

Yes still showing 5 bars in a crappy signal area here too. Only affects 3G though, not lte or 2g

Yes. I show five "bars" at work when, in reality, I often have no signal at all.
