Has it always scrolled faster and faster in the app switcher if you keep swiping on the thumbnails?

Updating to Beta 4 now... I hope they fixed the slide to unlock so it doesn't unlock every damn time I get a notification when my phone is in my pocket. So tired of pulling my phone out to find that I've lost 10% battery cause my screen has been on for a while.

Another change:

Now in the camera app you can hold down the virtual shutter button on the touch screen until you are ready to take a photo and then release to take the photo. This is nice if you are trying to take a picture of something that is moving around a lot like an animal. You can frame the photo and just quickly release your finger once you see the scene the way you like it. This has been the behavior in all previous version of iOS until the iOS7 betas.

In previous iOS7 betas, the camera would be triggered immediately on tapping the button not on release.

This is big! Incoming notifications can be swiped away!!! Yeah!!! Just swipe up when the notification appears!!!! Great news. I wish it was a different gesture, but that will also do!!!

  • iTunes Radio now has toggle to play explicit tracks.
  • Album artwork in lockscreen no longer is overlapped by the Slide to unlock message, it is now reduced in size, placed just above the message.

Yes!!!! This is literally the only feature I missed going from iOS 6 JB to iOS 7 beta. Now that it's here, I have absolutely no other reason to ever jailbreak again.'

Edit: I read this thinking you meant swiping them away inside of notification center, which you can't do. The swipe up thing has been in iOS since iOS 6 if i'm not mistaken.

My goodness but that is some seriously ugly screenage.

Very Microsoft-like.

Swiping away notifications is "new" for iOS? Good grief...

Very welcome addition. Was a pain having to switch notification slides by tapping, especially on the ipad.

Now, why couldn't they add a delete all button in inbox??

This was in Beta 2 for sure, and I think Beta 1 but I can't remember. I like it too.

Apologies if it's already been posted, but are most of the animations quite a bit quicker now? Or is it my imagination?

Definitely a good thing.

That was there in beta 3...I use it all the time. Still cool though, and I'm glad you discovered it :)

Shuffle Artist

The one feature missing from earlier Betas of iOS 7 that I use a lot that was brought back in Beta 4: when you open the iPod app and select the Artist tab you can now pull down to get the search bar and a Shuffle All Songs option. Before you only got the search.

I would have thought that swiping across would do away with it, considering that is how you do it in OS X. The up swipe, especially at top may take a while to master.

Am I alone in thinking that Microsoft's UI prowess has improved immeasurably over the last 5-6 years? Looking at the UI for the XBox 360 and Windows 7/8, it's hard to deny that Microsoft finally has a decent grasp on UI design, at least visually. I won't go so far as to say they've caught up with Apple (in my experience the functionality and organization still gets muddled by MS) but visually, I have no complaints with them. Long gone are the days of UI abominations like Windows XP.

I think insulting a UI by calling it "Microsoft-like" has become an anachronism at this point.

Animations are quicker for sure, less glitchy too.

Sometimes going back to the home screen from the app switcher - by tapping on it rather than pressing the home button - would cause a loss of wallpaper ... this is now fixed.

Great news. I enjoyed that feature.

Anybody know if Verizon phones are still not receiving some calls?

I tested this, and found the problem of calls not coming in fixed!

I'm receiving all notifications on my Pebble smartwatch with this software update! don't know if it's a bug...but I love it! :D

?

How are the Music controls? Are they too long and as such show up like "N...ing" for "Now Playing"?

I'm at work and can't DL yet. Would love for someone to post screenshots of the music app.
