iOS 7 Beta 4 Tidbits: Lockscreen Redesign, Notification Center Improvements and New Search Options

How are the Music controls? Are they too long and as such show up like "N...ing" for "Now Playing"?

I'm at work and can't DL yet. Would love for someone to post screenshots of the music app.

That was fixed in Beta 3 for most people

I like very much the new flatter, minimalistic design. I always thought the iOS design was a little bit over-saturated with gradients, shadows, reflections, etc.

in iOS 7 beta 3 I used to have a glitch sending photos in text messages. It would crash 90% of the time. I seem to be able to select a photo and send it smoothly in this, so... glitch fixed? for me at least.

Developers cannot release apps optimized for iOS7 until iOS7 has been officially released.

That hasn't stopped developers from doing so anyways. I've had a few apps come in with better support for iOS 7. Last year, even a bigger app like Spotify added early iOS 6 support. They were quite blatant about it, with their typical sense of humor. The update said something, "added support for iOS 6 to resolve crash issues, for all you "developers" out there..."

They just can't make the claim that they've been optimized for iOS7.
eBay and Shazam were both broken under iOS7 but updates got them both working again.

This is also new for this beta. After installing while my phone was connected to my work computer it prompted me if I trusted this computer.

Using text is a mistake, as the length of the word will vary by language thus shortening the search field width. No need to delete the ubiquitous x.

Finally, they updated the passcode lock screen. The random gradients and lack of input feedback was aggravating.

Animations and Parallax seem to be much more smooth than before. I really like what I see.

This is big! Incoming notifications can be swiped away!!! Yeah!!! Just swipe up when the notification appears!!!! Great news. I wish it was a different gesture, but that will also do!!!

I don't know if it's really anything revolutionary because I have been able to swipe away notifications on my Android phone since the last update.

It is a nice feature though.

Ok, I stand corrected. However, they cannot use any iOS7 API or the newer tools to build their apps, since that will not be allowed by Apple.

I think the heavy use of text is the biggest problem with iOS 7. I've gotten over the icons, but the heavy use of text is really getting annoying and not any prettier to look at. It's also really cluttering up UIs that used to work great like the music app and making it uglier and harder to use.

In Beta 3 under statuses and photos Likes and Comments were too big and sometimes it would only be XX L... XX C... now in Beta 4 you can see XX Likes XX Comments

On iPhone 4S when turning on Timer and locking the device it will always be 00:00 or 12:00, but on iPhone 5 it works... so... weird...

Also Filters are now available on iPhone 4S Thanks apple!

I agree, It makes it difficult to locate controls when they look the same as labels. That's exactly why UI buttons exist.

It really is getting better and better! Using it on 4S and it is so much smoother and really great to use. The only thing I still hate and wish they change are the icons! Really hate them still. Thought they will grow on me but I hate them more now! Photos, Camera, Game Center, settings, safari! I think I pretty much dislike them all! Game center especially!

There are some very radical iOS changes. Some are nice but others are quite disturbing. Will the next iPhone bring the Apple flagship product back on par with Samsung G4?
