Idk, seems like they wanted to push this out now rather than waiting. It's looking to be a small update as well.
You know somebody on the Apple dev team saw all those articles today and is having a good laugh now
I wonder how BGR feels right about now...
Guys, I think the small size means this is some critical bug fix.
Meaning, they probably didn't intent to release an update before next week, but felt compelled to fix some small issue.
I would imagine that BGR was not wrong, rather, something small came up that changed their plans a little bit. I would still bet that we'll see the next beta (now beta 7) next week with more substantial changes/fixes.

I noticed in Beta 6, when you swipe away 3 apps in Multitasking, it no longer leaves behind one of the icons like it did in Beta 5.
