Sounds like so far the OS has been a pile of glitches and bugs.
It's called a Beta for a reason. And beta 5 fixed A LOT of those bugs.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I still have numerous crashes on my ipad and iphone 5, rotational issues, keyboard lag, notification problems, bad battery life etc...
I'm shocked this is the last beta pre GM!
It will crash snappier.

Hmm. Not seeing any of that on my iPhone 5. The whole experience seems a bit laggy on my iPad 3rd Gen. Battery life has been pretty exceptional, overall on my iPhone. Keep in mind that battery life issues on dev builds usually, not always but usually point to legacy apps that haven't been updated for the new OS.

You're listening to the wrong people. It has not.
I hope they've reverted the changes made in the music app. They need to collapse the artist albums back into grid view. As it stands now there all expanded in chronological order which is stupid and annoying scrolling through all the songs just to get to the song or album you want.
The music app is horrible and just stupid. No way they change enough before release but let's hope.

Love iOS 7, but the changes to the music app just don't make sense to me. I love iTunes Radio and the actual player itself.. but the artists view is just awful. Also, hate that purchased songs ignore edited tags and display whats in the store.. really annoying.
Recently, yes (iOS6), but I haven't changed anything. I went in and saw there were a bunch of notification options set for apps that I never set nor did I want to. Battery still drains fast but it's a tad bit better.
I was having crazy battery drain with the beta until I did a clean install. Now I have battery life as good as the day I bought my 4S. Forgetting the beta, I'll now do a clean install every six months no matter what. The difference is that significant.
As for iOS 7, i really hated it at first. I kept it on my phone only to wallow in everything I didn't like about it (mainly the skinny fonts and the strange icons in Mail and Safari). But you know, this iOS 7 is growing on me! I'm not sure I'd even want to go back to iOS 6 now. Strange...
Just installed beta 7! Pushed to my phone early this AM. Not seeing any drastic changes (or any for that matter) upon first glance. In terms of overall feel and polish this feels like a GM release.

But I think there'll be a Beta 8 before GM.
I'm with you. Apple is working fast and furious on this. One more beta before it goes GM.
As a developer, you sure know, that there is a special version of Find my iPhone available to download on the Developer Portal.

It's 100% normal for any Beta to be full of glitches and bugs. That's what a BETA is.
Question, I know GM's are supposed to be identical to the final release, but is there flexibility in that, could Apple hold new icons back from the GM so that they can show them first at the event?
No. In fact, battery life is better. Your issue is likely caused by a legacy app that hasn't been updated to work with the new OS yet.
