Question, I know GM's are supposed to be identical to the final release, but is there flexibility in that, could Apple hold new icons back from the GM so that they can show them first at the event?

Sorry don't think the icons are changing. Maybe they will for iOS 8.

No. The GM would then be a beta in your example. They wouldn't want to introduce changes to a stable final build (GM).

They must have made a load of bug fixes in the last two weeks then because much as i like the new iOS it's still FULL of bugs (and big bugs at that)

I've noticed a few things. Some like my iPad respringing every time I use the close gesture to get out of Facebook could be app related. But there was also the lack of download buttons in TV shows when doing 'show all', unless you went into the store and downloaded an episode and then you got it for the rest but under a segregated list etc. Removal of the quality switcher (which should also split up 720 and 1080 like in iOS 5). Inconsistent app badges. And a few other quirks

i think there will be 9 BETAs this time, the 10th update will be the complete version (it will be released on 10th sep), really excited about the final version, it's gonna be awesome.

This isn't the GM. If Apple were to show new icons at the event, they would be available in the GM which will be released the day of the event. That said, I doubt the icons are changing.

Unless there was a major bug in the GM that slipped through or they wanted to make a last minute change. iOS 4 GM included Game Center, but iOS 4.0 public release did not. Game Center didn't make its way into the hands of the public until 4.1.

Ok, so I installed the iOS 7 BETA 6, on mi iPhone 4S but didn't synchronized any music, my question forum is... do I have to have the itunes beta 2 also to get all my music synchronized and apps on my iPhone? because I heard lots of people like me, not even able to sync their devices.

That has been the case in the past; these major updates usually require an updated version of iTunes, unless there's a workaround patch (but I doubt it).

I was thinking of Release Candidates, could they change stuff like icons between the last RC and the GM?

Yep... this sums it up for me too.

I was holding out hope that the icons were just placeholders for much better ones they'd eventually substitute (especially after getting all the negative feedback on them after the first couple betas). But this far along, it's not looking like Apple really intends to change them much more, unless that's part of a surprise they're purposely holding back until the gold master comes out?

I found that I really like the task switching (full screen previews you scroll through, and "close" an app by flicking it off the top edge of the screen).

Maybe it's what you're referring to as the color scheme, but what bugs me the most is how "bright" it all looks. Seems like everything has bright white backgrounds or bold, bright colors - whereas I prefer my phones to keep the background black/dark wherever possible. I would think it helps battery life a bit, if nothing else.

There's plenty of this in the iOS 7 forum, but the short of it is, for me, the design is a mixed bag. Love the minimalism, animations, lack of skeuomorphism; hate the icons, music app, and color scheme. It's pretty solid on an iPhone 5.

Can someone who's had access to these betas tell me what iOS 7 is like? Does it feel solid? What do you think of its design?

In addition to this question, are you finding it more efficient or faster to use? What is the advantage of the flat design? Honestly, after playing with it last evening it looks pretty ugly, reminds me of using DOS.

Icons, Icons, Icons...

It's been like 3 months and I'm still talking about Icons. I've warmed up to the Settings, but Safari is still horrible. I really do hope we see a change, but I'm not hopeful.

On another note, the frost glass effect is horrible. It's just the worst. In fact, the worst is the volume up/down pop over with the frost glass. I can't see the content behind it!
