Despite what everyone has said, I'm one who couldn't resist and put iOS 7 Beta on my 32GB ATT iPhone 5 back in June, and just a couple days ago I put it on my Wifi iPad 3rd Gen.

I really haven't run into many problems on my iPhone since beta 3+ other than the occasional safari crashes - maybe a couple app crashes (expected), and music app crashes. Nothing that bad....

...BUT...

I stupidly put it on my iPad a couple days ago thinking that since the phone wasn't too bad, the iPad shouldn't be. Boy was I wrong, besides safari crashing all the time, a lot of apps don't work, and the dock disappears and/or the screen only shows halfway...

Oh well, I learned my lesson... but I hope this update fixes at least the screen glitch issues.

I'm patient and like seeing the progress, looking forward to the update :)

Beta 6 is pretty good, (5 was bad for me, as the screen would turn red and the phone would reboot often) but it still could use a little work.
Overall it is faster to use in a lot of ways. I love the new design, and the icons don't bother me.
Control center gets used a lot!!
Can't wait for beta 7. And I will download the whole update and not update OTA. I get better relults that way, I think,

Optimizing the color scheme to save on battery life is a AMOLED quirk. Not meant for LCD's.

I was holding out hope that the icons were just placeholders for much better ones they'd eventually substitute (especially after getting all the negative feedback on them after the first couple betas). But this far along, it's not looking like Apple really intends to change them much more, unless that's part of a surprise they're purposely holding back until the gold master comes out?

I found that I really like the task switching (full screen previews you scroll through, and "close" an app by flicking it off the top edge of the screen).

Maybe it's what you're referring to as the color scheme, but what bugs me the most is how "bright" it all looks. Seems like everything has bright white backgrounds or bold, bright colors - whereas I prefer my phones to keep the background black/dark wherever possible. I would think it helps battery life a bit, if nothing else.

Still on Beta 6 here, software update says no new release..

Is Beta 7 an OTA update (im assuming no reason it wouldn't be) or do i need to do a dock an wipe (which means putting aside an hour tonight to dig out the dev MBP and update and re-sync)

Anyone have a dev account for the iOS 5 to iOS 6 roll out ? could you update from beta to final, or did you have to roll back to 5 then do a clean update to 6 ?

Are you blind? Can't you see it's more than similar?

You're joking around, right? You are so far off the scale, it's not even funny. If you think that's similar, you're the one who needs to get his eyes checked.

By your logic, Chrome stole Apple's logo since Apple had a similar one in their Safari 1.0 release in 2003. The compress, color scheme and so on.

one thing everyone wants but apple cannot provide why? dont they read the blogs smh, give us quick replay, also in ios 7 beta 1 we had the select all feature in mail after that its gone bring it back, 3rd the multitasking tray sucks everone bought auxo when they where jailbroken not that other garbage i know everyone feels the same way i do you we just need to voice our opinions, GIVE US QUICK REPLAY

Kinda excited! By now I'm fine with most of the icons (except the choice of green for the phone/messages/ phonecall-info bar) and the contacts and reminders.
But I really hope they fix some stupid bugs like the locked parallax effect after a phone call and put more sense into the music app!
They really should change the stupid text at the bottom of the app into buttons again (shuffle, replay)!!!

This is really the biggest annoyance I have with the whole design, the weird inconsistencies when it comes to buttons/vs text decisions.. like at the lockscreen the "ok" "button" which is not a button but just text...:confused:

Why isn't there a close all apps button yet... or is there? I just don't know about it...

Because according to Apple it's unneeded. iOS is smart enough to automatically kill background processes as RAM is needed for apps currently in use.

<Screaming maniacally that we must overthrow, then runs out of room. Nobody follows. Hears crickets.>

I was thinking of Release Candidates, could they change stuff like icons between the last RC and the GM?

I think the icons we see in these last betas are very likely the final icons. However, yes, it's quite possible for Apple to change anything in between releases.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if there was some other, hidden, functionality in iOS7 that we haven't seen in the betas yet, and which will be introduced during the September 10th event... ;)

RTP.

Anyone who is dev testing still having issues with wallpaper not being able to work correctly? It auto focuses to one size and you can't adjust anything if you try.

Quite like iOS 7, only a couple of things I wish they would change.

I still think that control centre would be better off as a tab in the notification centre. That way, the swipe up would go to the multitasking which, to me, would be much more fluid than a double tap of the home button each time.

Then a swipe down for notification centre and, just like you can swipe through the current today, all and missed sections, you could swipe through to the tab for the control centre.

Doesn't it seem too early for a final?

GM will drop on 9/10 or a few days after. Just seems odd that Apple would withhold the GM for 21 days for no reason.

Yeah we heard (and ignored) you the first time.

I actually like that idea.

So iOS 7b7 will be released soon™.

This feels like a Blizzard soon™.

I'll wait till it's released and read the feedback on it. I fail to understand why this article was even needed. Surely someone will fill me in on it's importance. Cause I don't get it.

I love iOS 7 so far such a big change. the only thing bother me is safari crashes.
people I showed them ios 7 were amazed on this beautiful software

It's been like 3 months and I'm still talking about Icons. I've warmed up to the Settings, but Safari is still horrible. I really do hope we see a change, but I'm not hopeful.

On another note, the frost glass effect is horrible. It's just the worst. In fact, the worst is the volume up/down pop over with the frost glass. I can't see the content behind it!
What killed any Safari icon hope I had was their minor change to it a while into the beta program. I think that sealed the deal that all they felt were remaining was a bit of fine-tuning, no overhauls.

Having said that, I'm not going wild over it. Yes, I would have liked a different style on maybe three or four icons, but hopefully I'll get used to it. If not? Well, then I will not get used to it. :p

It's 100% normal for any Beta to be full of glitches and bugs. That's what a BETA is.

But it sucks when at beta 6, it's still has bugs, glitches up the wazoo.

----------

Just because this is the final Beta, the GM will address bug fixes, tweaks, etc.

No, they will keep fixing bugs long after the gm is out. The gm's always have blatant bugs that never got addressed in the betas.
