Is this just not a video of a bunch of already available tweaks if you jailbreak?

Completely unoriginal, not very apple, and even if it were I doubt they would do it simply because of this video!

There is an easy access to search in iOS, you can either swipe to the right from main home screen or click home button ones from there. The search screen has a a small search field at the top and keyboard at the bottom, but center is just gray nothing that takes more than half of the screen. It is the perfect place for quick preferences. If you start searching, the search results will replace them, and it's totally fine because it means that you got to search screen to search and thus you do not need those preferences, but if you do, you would use them before searching.

This is very easy to add to iOS and it would be so valuable, many geeks would praise iOS again and regular users would love that too.

nice idea, i wish apple would do it.
and actually I would pick the same pref like on you mock up

To be honest... I dont like this concept at all. I hope Apple does something more useful than this.

I like the lockscreen on iPhone though. But everything else just looks plain ugly to me :S

I'd just like multiple users. I need a profile for my kids and one for my wife and I. That would solve a lot of headaches.

I would actually like to see a work and personel switch. So I can keep my work separate.

I actually liked some of the ideas that were presented. Not all of them, but some were pretty slick.

IMHO the ipad is in more need of an OS overhaul than the iphone. Apple needs to introduce new ways of running more than one apps simultaneously...

Yeah, 2 apps at once occupying the same screen seems right on the iPad, not on the iPhone.

Isn't it a bit funny that widgets were supposedly useless and unnecessary on Android and now they may be included on iOS? Anyway, I find it amusing.

The news didn't say anything about Apple possibly doing this, but it was just a concept video. Also, the concept video's "widgets" aren't the same thing as widgets in Mac OS or Android. If they add THOSE kinds of widgets, it'll suck. There has always been the chance of Apple doing it, but thankfully, they haven't.

I love it!!!
Looks awesome!!
Mission Control and Settings are awesome.

Would be nice for a complete makeover but this is pretty good.

But alas.... tis only a concept. :(
Why is it that Apple cant give us something like that!!

If iOS 7 comes out and is pretty much the same as all previous iOS's then no way I'm going to bother upgrading.

Everything shown is already available

My jailbroken iPhone 5 can do a whole lot more than that already.
Everything he shows on this cknctepmis already available and ready to be used now for just a few bucks.
I couldn't go back to a non jailbroken iPhone.
iOS7 is gonna be crippled by Apple not "opening up" like android or the jailbrake community.

Yeah isn't it hilarious how different folks like different things? "Rotflololol" and so on... :)

Everything here looks good except for the quick settings. It should just be faster to change them in the Settings app.

That could become nasty. How would this work in terms of iTunes accounts? A one-to-one mapping?

Seems clean to me. You just put one account on each user. The users would have different apps. As it is, downloaded apps are stored in user folders and not system folders.

mission control looks good

widgets - nope

prefer the icons to be "cooly" animated

home screen reply - hell no , where is my password

home screen access to basic daily toggle settings - yes pls :D

If all iOS7 contained was the settings shortcuts like SBSettings and the ability to put Videos into folders/playlists in the native Videos app then I'd be a happy camper.

Quite hilarious when you read the comments when someone brings up widgets as an advantage of Android over iOS.

Bluetooth toggle

I'd put Tim Cook on my Xmas card list if I could toggle Bluetooth from the home screen.

I haven't used Bluetooth until about 2 months ago because I never had a device to connect to. Now I do and I just leave Bluetooth on all the time and haven't noticed decreased battery life. So I'm honestly wondering, why turn it off?

(iPhone 5 here)

you contradict yourself.. if you believe that "time is the most precious commodity", then wouldn't you want something to make using your phone more convenient and quicker to use?

it surely wouldn't hurt to have a feature like widgets or Google Now in iOS, with a couple of info right away with one press of a button.. just because your usage is not like others, doesn't make it "frivolous crap". i wouldn't doubt that iOS users constantly on the go, traveling, or just plain like multi-tasking won't complain about having this sort of feature/addition.

and if you don't like it.. then don't use it.. just because it's there, doesn't mean you can no longer use your phone (open up apps one by one by one...) the old fashioned way anymore.

Point taken.... My bad, there should have been a "however" instead of an "and" .... I think it might have made sense then....

Time is the most precious commodity we have. HOWEVER, so many people waste their time with frivolous crap, and then complain about a 1/10th of a second to open an app.... imho

"Apple's user interfaces will likely face new scrutiny now that Facebook has laid out a new vision for how phone users interact with their devices with Facebook Home."

Facebook home is nothing but hype. Doesn't look appealing to me or anyone I've talked to.

Best to wait for people in the real world to be using it before coming to this type of judgement.

You and I may not like it but I'm sure the same can be said about a lot of iOS features as well. Apple definitely needs to take note though.

It's like the smartphone market is now saying, "Thanks Apple for the iPhone and design you brought with it, but we'll take over from here"

It's a shame iOS is so restricted that developers can't implement it without jail breaking…

OK. But I'd settle for wi-fi on-off through Siri.

+1

It's odd that although you can open apps via Siri you can't close them.

This all seems behind the times...

It's 2013 for crying out loud where is my damn flying car!

:)

Um, apps are supposed to open really fast. Those quick replies are just as slow as opening the app and provide you less screen and less functionality thane were sliding currently lands you.

Replacing the camera on the lock screen is also nearly worthless if you lock your phone since the slow part is entering your password/code.

The only thing here of value I think is the ability to toggle the various radios and DND from the lock screen.

I hope Apple addresses the issue where you're in a car, moving obviously, POP WIFI Near You, POP WIFI Near You, POP WIFI Near You. You then have to go turn off wifi so this doesn't happen, and you forget about later in the day, and you wonder why you're iPhone ran out of battery so fast. Oh, I forgot to turn my Wifi back on.

The only things I really agree with are the new look of what pops up when you receive a text or iMessage. I HATE the current look of it.

I also feel like I should be able to turn Bluetooth/Location/WiFi on/off quickly and easily. Not by opening Settings and going into each one.

Everything else isn't that great. Nice looking video though.

I've studied graphic design and interaction design for three years and as well worked two years professionally as a Graphic Designer for mobile applications, although the effort is good, many ideas are flawed, specially the widgets will not work and is completely unnecessary. Adding a double tap to trigger a state that shows a widget is the complete opposite of what widgets are. The user can achieve similar goals but with more options by just simply opening the application. And why would you want to for example double tap the weather icon when it is available through the notification center?

As for the lockscreen settings shortcuts, interesting but terrible. The point of the lockscreen is to prevent the user to accidentally change the phones behavior. Adding a hidden big swipe able area to access crucial buttons such as Bluetooth, flight mode etc is just asking for the user to miss calls etc. as if people don't accidently pocket dial enough already...

There's a lot more to add and overall, the execution and visual profile is also horrendous. Some parts are definitely interesting but its
Mostly flawed and its obvious to me why Apple hasn't yet gone into this kind of direction. Most of these ideas add functionality but severely decreases usability.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't go as far to call these design solutions or concepts. These concepts are doing the exact opposite. Removing usability... These concepts are similar to those of decorators. Adding cool widgets and functionality to for example, the lockscreen.People believing they are doing design by making it more pretty and functional but in reality, they have no theoretical background and its just a decorated UI. Not a solution.
