The control panel makes it really hard to do anything if you have a case. It is not an HP TouchPad, there is no sensor in the base below the screen, so why is the swipe feature all the way at the bottom? And why do we have to depend on that for all the main controls?

Whether you like it or not, Apple's devices aren't specifically designed to be used with cases. Apple designs the OS for the devices (and vice versa). Case manufacturers have to design around this to have minimal impact on usability.

Vahalla, are you using Notification Center? When I used iOS 7 beta 3 for a day (not a dev so just wanted to give it a try), it had this bug where both NC and CC wouldn't get triggered by any swipe. So it just might be the same bug.

So even if it's not the same bug; is swiping to bring up the NC working for you?

It was on an iPhone 5 btw.

I don't think it's a bug. It's just not reliable or responsive..

You can't stop music on a dime anymore.

It's likely a bug. Both should not require multiple swipes to come up. I don't think Apple intended it to take multiple swipes because that would be ridiculous.

Concept is subpar as it is.

The home button should be for the control center and swiping should be for multitasking.

Then perhaps Apple should stop selling cases?

You kinda missed my point, I think. Apple sells cases because people like to buy cases for their iPhones. Apple doesn't design the third-party cases; it's the case makers' responsibility to design good cases that don't affect the use of iOS, not the other way round.

In other words, your case is causing an inconvenience when using Control Center. It's not Control Center's gesture causing the problem.

I had a dream that Tim Cook was the product of a Steve Jobs and Martha Stewart love affair. Do you guys think this will be announced in the Beta 4 release notes?

OP - I don't understand why you're persevering with the iOS7 beta if you have so many issues with it. Downgrade to iOS6 and don't upgrade when the public release comes around.

I have not had an issue with Control Centre at all - I can't imagine how you can't seem to make it work?!

Maybe you should try and get back to sleep and see if you dream of anything better this time as I have a worrying feeling that your dream will be realised when beta 4 is released - bug fixes and performance improvements...as for notification/control centre and major parts of the iOS being radically changed? I think not.

Do what I do. Start outside the screen bounds and then pull up :)

It's not an HP TouchPad! I get Apple's idea was to be like the TouchPad and swipe below the bezel. But the iPhone doesn't have a sensor below the bezel. So it doesn't work well.

On an HP TouchPad it worked effortlessly.

Apple's version is a disaster. It doesn't work.

It does not work.

Oh, yeah. I'm doing exactly that, I don't have the patience for it, and as long as I have an iPhone 5, I won't update, only saving grace would be depending on Apple's new iPhone which hopeful will be designed to work with iOS 7.

I also had a dream last night.

It involved Scarlett Johansen and copious amounts of bouncing ...

I've had that dream! Does she always end up beating you at basketball too?

Apple's version is a disaster. It doesn't work.

It does not work.

I don't know why you stated that twice, especially considering that it works perfectly for me.

It begs the question of where exactly is the software registering your touch?

I assume it registers your touch right at the bottom of the screen. I have found that when I try to begin my swipe exactly at the bottom of the screen, it doesn't always work. However, whenever I begin my swipe just slightly below the screen, it works every time.

Probably on the touch screen... I have not had any of these problems you seem to be having... it works just like the notification center on Mac... takes a bit to get used to but really its not that hard to do!

So I will be forced not to use a case, or use a different case. Something I will have to consider, but, my phone works fine now.

Does your current case cover the area directly below the screen (Presumably with a hole for the home button)? If so, yeah, that might not work too well.

I have the Belkin Flex Twin Cases.

It's a concession I will not make, and still even with the case on and off it doesn't work better than iOS 6.

I can't stop music when I want to, or change rotation orientation when I want to because

swiping doesn't really work, which renders control center unusable.

Works perfectly for me. Do you have an otterbox defender on your phone?

ah. my question was answered already. It's a fault with your case, not with the software, so shut up.
