If I do a shift+update from beta 6 to GM and then do a reset all settings will this give me a clean install with all my data intact? I just want to get rid of any beta code left behind.

My beta 6 was a clean install with my udid registered.

I have a windows pc and will be unable to restore my data until iTunes 11.1 is out.

EDIT: Just tried this and so far so good.

So I updated itunes to 11.1 and was going to so a backup before updating to IOS GM. I'm on iOS 7.6. And it got the message saying "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services". I wasn't able to do a backup as it won't allow me and it says that this device has never been backed up to this computer. I also noticed that my previous backup is missing. I haven't yet updated to GM. So my question is this, should I do a backup to iCloud via iPhone before updating? And also what is the best way to update so I can restore all my content that I have now? Thank you all in advance, and sorry for asking this if it's been answered already. I just don't want to lose any of my content.

About 45 mins!

1. Backup iPhone
2. Downloaded ios7 GM (dubious source)
3. Restored in iTunes 11.05
4. Downloaded iTunes 11.1b2 (same dubious source)
5. Restored backup

Suspect the 1st sync will take longer :D

Look forward to having a play, although I'm already disliking only 9 icons in a folder (my iP5 has a big screen!) and missing a few jailbreaks (the multi-tasking is still pants!)

Glad I switched to a Mac when Intel joined the party

ps: yep, 1st sync almost finished 90 mins later!

SO I just got done adding some new ring tones to my iPhone5 running IOS 7. I really don't know why, and suspect it may be the 30 pin to lightning adaptor (it is recognized as a non oem device) but I have been able to add music, tones, apps, and backup the device even though I am on 11.0.5 iTunes.

Any one have any other explanation why this is working. Not complaining just wondering if I have stumbled upon some hole in the ios system opened by the non-standard cabling??

I installed iOS 7 GM yesterday from Beta 6. After I did that and installed iTunes 11.1 and I was unable to pull any of my recent back ups while on the iOS 7 Betas. I did a refresh to 6.13 then to GM. Is there anything I can do to get one of my recent Beta 6 backups to my phone now? The most recent that I could find was from 2 months ago... Thank you for any help.

why would you DFU if you're just going to restore from a backup anyway? It's easier to just upgrade and then erase all content and settings.

Everywhere I read said to do that just to be safe. I wish I would have just updated. Ill see if that iTools site can maybe help when I get off work tonight.

iTunes Incompatibility in iOS 7 GM

Hey, this is my first post. I feel that forums like these are both informative and fun. I use a 32GB iPhone 5, and I updated to iOS 7 a few hours ago. I realized that it is only available for iTunes 11.1 (which isn't even out). Am I alone in this problem? Any advice?

I was able to finally restore from my local backup! It was a long road. I logged into wife's account on the same mac (but with lot less crap) that ran on the same 11.1 beta 2. I noticed when I connected my iPhone the backup and restore buttons were NOT greyed out unlike my profile. Also, it didn't keep popping up the message about sync issues. I clicked on restore just to see what choices I have and it actually show my wife's local backups. With that I decided to copy over my local backups (couldn't figure out which one was latest so I copied all) to the same location as hers and was able to restore my phone's data. After that was completed I logged back into my profile to do regular syncing.

Hey guys, quick question I got ios7 gm on iPhone 5 I have a Mac but my backup files are on windows I downloaded 11.1 beta on the Mac and copied my backup folder from windows to the proper mobile sync backup folder on Mac iTunes still doesn't see it does anyone know how I can get the backup showing on my Mac?

When you say "logged into your wife's account"...you mean her iTunes account? Or what? And where on the computer can I find my last back up, if I wanted to move it to another computer...

I mean a separate user account on Mac OS -- not iTunes.

Path to all local iOS backups are here. Library folder is hidden so you will need to "Show System Files" in Finder, View
~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup

So, if I have iTunes 11.1 beta(Mac), I can't downgrade? in order to restore iOS 6.1.4 I would need an official iTunes, correct? I unfortunately, did NOT do an iCloud backup and also lost ALL my info

I would suspect you can downgrade with 11.1. But its not required. If you downgrade back to iOS6 you should be able to restore your iTunes backup from iOS 6. Then you will have all your data back. Then Update to iOS7 not restore and you will still have all your stuff. Just cannot use iTunes to backup, sync or restore until 11.1 is released once you are on iOS7 GM.

This is my issue as well. GingerL are you on Snow Leopard? I can't seem to get past this error message. I tried deleting the mobile device folder in the PrivateFramework trick, but no matter what I do I can't get rid of this message when iTunes 11.1b2 tries to connect to my iPhone. Anyone else solve this?

I am on Snow Leopard. My iPhone will sync, and even transfer purchases. It just wont back up and it doesn't show my last backup. I'm thinking of just backing up to iCloud to be safe. I've never used iCloud before so I'm also wondering if it acts as a regular backup? Meaning saving game progress along with everything else.

Can someone help me?

> Basically I am using ios7 right now, I haven't got any backups from ios6.
> I have manually backed up the ios7 back up today by using my iTunes

> When the official release is out, will I be able to upgrade?
> Do I downgrade to ios6 or keep it at 7?
> When the official release is out can I restore my back up I did today?
> Will I need itunes 11.1 to restore this back up?

Can someone advise me.. Made a big mistake upgrading to ios7 before the release date! Never again
