My wife can't understand the smile on my face 😀
why would you DFU if you're just going to restore from a backup anyway? It's easier to just upgrade and then erase all content and settings.
Everywhere I read said to do that just to be safe. I wish I would have just updated. Ill see if that iTools site can maybe help when I get off work tonight.
I was able to finally restore from my local backup! It was a long road. I logged into wife's account on the same mac (but with lot less crap) that ran on the same 11.1 beta 2. I noticed when I connected my iPhone the backup and restore buttons were NOT greyed out unlike my profile. Also, it didn't keep popping up the message about sync issues. I clicked on restore just to see what choices I have and it actually show my wife's local backups. With that I decided to copy over my local backups (couldn't figure out which one was latest so I copied all) to the same location as hers and was able to restore my phone's data. After that was completed I logged back into my profile to do regular syncing.
When you say "logged into your wife's account"...you mean her iTunes account? Or what? And where on the computer can I find my last back up, if I wanted to move it to another computer...
So, if I have iTunes 11.1 beta(Mac), I can't downgrade? in order to restore iOS 6.1.4 I would need an official iTunes, correct? I unfortunately, did NOT do an iCloud backup and also lost ALL my info
So I updated itunes to 11.1 and was going to so a backup before updating to IOS GM. I'm on iOS 7.6. And it got the message saying "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services". I wasn't able to do a backup as it won't allow me and it says that this device has never been backed up to this computer. I also noticed that my previous backup is missing. I haven't yet updated to GM. So my question is this, should I do a backup to iCloud via iPhone before updating? And also what is the best way to update so I can restore all my content that I have now? Thank you all in advance, and sorry for asking this if it's been answered already. I just don't want to lose any of my content.
This is my issue as well. GingerL are you on Snow Leopard? I can't seem to get past this error message. I tried deleting the mobile device folder in the PrivateFramework trick, but no matter what I do I can't get rid of this message when iTunes 11.1b2 tries to connect to my iPhone. Anyone else solve this?
