Now THAT is hideous.

To the poster who wants background airplay, try the jasmine app. It's a YouTube variant which supports such a feature. :)

This may sound weird, but I wish you could arrange the icons anywhere on the screen and didn't have to keep them in order like currently( can't place one icon up top and one way at bottom). This is the first time I am more excited for IOS than I am for the next iphone. I hope they just don't get rid of the skeumorphism and say voila revolutionary. But only a little while longer until we know for sure.

Reading this big long wishlist of ideas people have makes me realize one thing.. Most of these probably aren't going to happen which is going to make me very disappointed. I always have such high hopes, only for Apple to make minor changes and additions.

iOS 7 will be a success

Hi all,

I've been using iOS since the original iPhone (and had all the iPhones+iPads to date) and I always used iOS devices as my main mobile operating system. I also had a lot of Android/Windows Phone/BlackBerry devices as second phones since I am testing new phones for 2 Canadian carriers (having a Nexus 4 as second phone at the moment).

What I want to say is that there never has been this level of excitement for an iOS release. Everything seems to be perfect. With Federighi leading both iOS and OS X, it can't be anything else than a very good thing. Plus, Ive's superb design skills now taking care of the software, it's gonna be looking awesome. I don't know why I am optimist like that but it's probably because the executive changes we've seen in late 2012. I feel that it's going to be a freaking good OS and Apple will be blowing the competition out of the water.

TL;DR: I have an awesome feeling about this year's WWDC and iOS 7.

It's great to finally see an optimist.

I think people expect too much. The expectations are so unrealistic that they will likely not be happy with whatever Apple comes up with. So I decided to lower mine, so that I'll be glad to accept the changes they planned.

I, too, am very excited about this version of iOS, although I'm even more excited about OS X (and it interests me that we've heard little about it, which hopefully means pleasant surprises).

There is too much excitement about iOS 7. I hope people won't be disappointed.

I just expect for UI Change and some cydia tweaks to be native.

One issue is software development lead times, I doubt we will see real changes inspired by the new executive team before iOS 8 in 2014.

Some UI changes will be possible,eg. less leather in Contacts and less poker tables in Gameroom, but that's probably it for iOS7.

I think people expect too much in a short timeframe - but I don't want to be a downer, keep your hope up :)

I think one thing is for sure, that any change will be met with a healthy does of complaining and whining. Just look at the changes that FB does constantly tweaking the interface angering its members. Many times it seems to be a decent change but that doesn't stop people.

Folks are funny, they clamor for stuff to be updated but when things change, particularly on stuff that they're used too and like, the complaints fly.

I think iOS is dated and in some respect restrictive compared to the competition, so Apple needs to do some things to update iOS and make it more inline with its competitors.

My concern is that so many people have raised their expectations for iOS 7 that it is never going to meet them. A lot of people have set themselves up for massive disappointment, because as others have said we're not going to see sweeping changes in the timescale mentioned.

Those expecting widgets and whatnot are going to be the first on here to whine and complain about Apple when it's their own ridiculous expectations that will have let them down, not Apple.

I've always been excited for iOS released. New features for free for all I'm concerned, they don't HAVE to update it.

However I've always been let down a bit after the fact but that's ok.

And of course iOS will be a success. It's gonna be on iDevices which have always been a success. But I guess that depends on your definition of success.

same here, REALLY excited for iOS7.
Ive and Federighi will bring out a great software and they'll surely leave android and windows WAY behind.

 What can/will iOS do that Android allready cant do ? and im not talking about propietary features like facetime that only work with apple idevices and mac.

I think its awesome whe finally get a nice redesign but i dont expect anything major regarding how the OS works, i expect the same iOS with with a different skin and the usual new sets of features and API for developers.

IOS7 lack of excitement compared to IOS6?

Anybody agree?

Words like black, white, flat dull all make it sound boring. Little word on new features other than moving Facetime to a separate app. More social network integration not exactly exciting?

Am I right in thinking this Ive guy is new to design IOS? With zero new products by the looks of things come June and a flat boring OS people are not going to be excited about could be a poor year for Apple.

Yes a slimmer Ipad may come but if the OS is dull it won't help.

Just join the discussion already going on. You can clearly tell people aren't excited but you know what? Those same people will be downloading iOS 7 as soon as it is public.

I'm really unclear how one can be excited, or not excited, or have any reaction at all, to something about which one has no solid knowledge, and which no one has ever seen.

i dont think so, although the redesigning would be the biggest thing about iOS7 but it will also get some new apps and features. the best thing to do is to just wait till June 10th and see what apple brings out.
