So eventually I need to replace my 5S. How long do you think I have before 7.1 comes out and the replacements in the stores have 7.1?

Nobody outside of Apple can answer the first question. As to the second, I've seen replacements keep old versions of the software for weeks or even a month or two after an update has been released. It's a gamble though so it's probably best to get it replaced sooner rather than later if a jailbreak is really important to you.

The Justgetflux.com/cydia version of f.lux just working great on my iPhone 5!!

I can confirm this!

In the end, it's up to you. Personally, I'll probably wait a few more days to see what goes on. Sounds a little too buggy for my tastes, and considering mobilesubstrate isn't working on the 5S at the moment, it's keeping me away.

Sounds like it was a rushed a tad bit, but I can understand from all the people whining "WHERES MY JAILBREAK?"

merry christmas to us!!! didnt know about the having to restore from a downloaded ios copy, so I'm redoing mine after a bootloop.

SO. PUMPED.

I am gonna restore and wait... I don't trut the JB anymore with all the chinese piracy connections..

Pretty happy with it on my 1st generation iPad Mini. Can't wait to pull out my brand new iPod Touch and install it on that Christmas morning!

The tweaks are going to be awesome this time around, I can sense it. :D

Yes you are correct what you can do after you have jailbroken 7.1 beta 2 is remove the ReleaseType Beta Value in SystemVersion plist to remove the expiry date from the beta

/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

crap ... must have deleted the wrong line? i deleted the <key>ReleaseType</key> value. should have deleted only the <string>beta</string> line instead?

restore it is

Hope this doesn't get patched in 7.1 :S Eitherway great news :D

Someone mentioned maybe patching the beta to not expire? Might that be worthwhile on the Air since that gains the most benefit from 7.1? That is of course if Apple manage to patch the JB before release.

When does beta 2 expire?

the jailbreak is safe plenty of people have already done it

are tweaks available for iOS 7? No
Is Cydia updated for iOS 7? No
Will you be effected by the Chinese app? Dunno, is Chinese your default language?

Just make sure your password is disabled, encrypted backup is turned off, and that if you updated via OTA you need to restore via iTunes and then jailbreak

safe.

i have it, and have flux installed. thats it for now...waiting on the rest of the tweaks to get updated soon.

What device and OS do you have flux installed on? I can't get it to function on my iPad Air 7.1 beta 2. Causes an endless boot loop.

So.....safe or not?

Definitely wait. This whole situation is screwed up.

We never got an answer about this as well = http://190.93.255.135/

Well, waiting also means the danger of the imminent iOS 7.0.5 release and the closing of the IPSW signing window... I'd say: if you don't have anything confidential on your iDevice and/or it's a iPad not capable of long-distance calls, go for the JB ASAP. It seems to be pretty stable, at least on the iPhone 5.

Agreed with you on that one. Stable on 5S, just can't do anything until MS is updated.

This the jailbreak being fresh, I'll give it sometime first. With the bugs that usually occur with versions and the fact BiteSMS isn't compatible yet, I'm in no rush to move to iOS 7.
At least the Chinese Appstore junk is uninstallable, though I'd like to know more about the tracking.

So as long as you don't mind potentially losing your privacy and not knowing what is installed or uploaded on your device then go ahead.

Is that what you're saying? I'd rather have no jailbreak than one that I can't trust.
