So an extra step, before you flipped the album art and were able to rate a song but now you have to select "rating" then you can, not bad I guess. I may just pull the trigger on iOS7. Thanks for the screenshots.

Did the update 7.0.2 address any issues/bugs within the Music App that anybody know of?

Well...maybe an extra step from iOS 6 when an individual song is concerned, but now you can select any song on that single page to listen to and rank it. I prefer that as that as how I normally rank songs...an entire album at a time.

The way iOS6 was no matter what was playing album/song you just flipped over the album art and you rate what's playing. You said you have to hit the menu button, then click the rating in the top left, then rate whatever. I don't really see the need to hit "rating" it's not in the way of anything from the screenshot. I like the look of it though kind of looks like iTunes.

A little known secret is that Midomi Soundhound (the music identification app) actually has a classic style player within it. The best part is that it uses a dark color theme and works just like the old music app. The downside is it seems to activate data often enough and I have no idea why.

It may be an app that you already have (or at least, should have) anyways. :D

My only issue with that and other apps I've tried is they don't handle Sort tags.

I don't know, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I really just sort by artists, songs, and playlists.

I tried the Denon Audio app for music and it's the best I've used yet. The option to disable artist images, feels like the good old music app. Even better, it has built in TuneIn radio and a dark theme.

I am much happier now.

iOS 7 MUSIC APP

...is the WORST!

They've removed the ability to delete Artists & Albums. How *ssbackwards is THAT?

How did you all miss this by the way? I haven't read a single complaint about this or anybody noticing that this is now gone in iOS 7?

I noticed that as well. I honestly can't find a single improvement with this app. Literally everything they changed is for the worst.

To be honest, I don't delete stuff often from my phone, I just remove it when syncing.

And there are so many more urgent issues with the music app. I'm going to keep on with the Denon audio app to see how it fares.

As a last resort, I'll delete all the album info of any album with fewer than 5 songs to help reduce the fragmenting of songs in artist view.

There are several customizable Sort fields. I mostly use the Artist one so that, for example, this:

Bob Dylan
Daft Punk
Josh Ritter
Katy Perry
Theresa Anderssen

is organized by last name; like this:

Theresa Anderssen
Daft Punk
Bob Dylan
Katy Perry
Josh Ritter

I tried Denon Audio. I like the features, but I don't like the dark theme. I was done with dark themes before iOS 7 and I'm still done now.

I use mine in many dark environments and dark theme doesn't sear my poor eyes. Opening my iphone at night actually causes a moment of pain as my eyes adjust.

All the things mentioned so far as no one cares that in artist view , none of the little shuffle buttons next to albums actually work? They always shuffle all songs....even though there's a separate option for that. What's the point in having a shuffle icon next to each album of a single artist if it doesn't even work?

I wouldnt say that. For people who often need to download albums and then delete them this is a major step backwards. For example, I often download audiobooks via iTunes Match which have 50+ songs which I then need to manually remove one by one when I'm done listening to the audiobook. Argh!

That's been mentioned many times. It's part of the general theme to ignore album boundaries when entering through Artists view. They did the same thing to the Remote App back in January. They ignored my feedback then and brought it to the iOS 7 Music app, plus they multiplied the fail with Music's bizarre new hybrid albums/songs list. Please go complain here and ask them to fix it:

Already did. If they want to take that functionality out, THEN GET RID OF THE DAMN SHUFFLE ICON NEXT TO EACH ALBUM IN ARTIST VIEW!!!! Ahhhhhh.

Music App cover flow in portrait model ?

While using music app, cos of software glitch or maybe slower to respond to orientation of the phone, the music showed cover flow in portrait mode and i could use it for about 30-40 sec. Surprised but i liked it to use cover flow with one hand in portrait model

Anyone know if the latest iOS 7.0.3 fixed any of the issues with the music app?

Nope, not one. Seriously whoever let this go now through 3 updates deserves to be fired. We need some serious GOOD alternatives to the stock app. I love ios 7 but the music app is simply a significant step backwards.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a way to not have the music app default to full volume? I know that you can set the volume limiter option in settings, but this has the side affect of preventing my Jawbone up from syncing. I'm tired of having my ears/speakers potentially blown out....

My music has started skipping just recently I noticed it yesterday and today, anyone else?

Just randomly? I noticed it started skipping when unlocking, but way after everyone else reported this problem. I don't know why it took so long to manifest.
