Performance is certainly improved on the iPad 2, there is no longer a horrible lag when using the keyboard to type in passwords that require you to switch to numbers and symbols. General performance seemed much smoother.
If this performance improvement really carries over to the iPhone 4S too then I can finally upgrade the wife's phone to iOS 8. She had used the iPad 2 a bit and didn't want iOS 8 anywhere near her 4S.

its just unfortunate that you didn't do this _before_ release. Would have been better than the horror stories about performance that put people off upgrading.
