So is the thinking that it is update related, or keyboard related? If you have auto-update on, downloading an app will trigger a check for updates and download app updates if there are any. That can trigger a respring.

Both manual and automatic, just curious.I'm 99.9% positive it's related to updating apps. That's the only time I ever see it. I don't have any 3rd party keyboards installed.

Your auto update feature may be enabled. Check your AppStore settingsNah, not for me. I had my first springboard crash for days this afternoon, whilst watching a video on You Tube.

I spoke too soon.... Had one today. just happened to e awake and caught it.
Here is a another maybe.....
Since 8.3, I noticed I am getting daily+ Coretime entries in my DU. The latest seemed to precede a reboot/respring.
{.bug_type":156,"os_version":"iOS 8.4 (12H143)"}

Hardware Model: iPhone7,1
OS Version: iOS 8.4 (12H143)
Most have been occurring when the phone is not is physical use (it's my work device). Yes, 156 is still alive.
I have no third party KB installed at this time. Auto update is active (always has been) on wifi.
Any ideas? Is this part of this issue?
well..is that a coretime report or resping? if it2s a respring..you have to see a bunch of jetsam event logs added in every 10 seconds. that's what we call springboard crash (definitely that issue)
and btw..how many apps are on your device.
Too weird 🙁 I couldn't find a definite solution for this. But we are sure there are a bunch of infected apps that can trigger a reboot after/ soon installedJetsam event was 12 minutes later - these events (Jetsam) are no longer daily. Is this always tied to a Jetsam event though?
102 apps including stock Apple apps. 6+ 64GB AT&T model.
Last DU recorded device crash (hard) was triggered by a OneDrive update back on July 2nd.
Just had a re spring earlier today after three days. Happened while updating apps over LTE
I think it might have to do with apps that have share sheets. I deleted an app that has a share sheet. When I went to Safari to see if it was gone, Safari would crash every time I tapped the share button. I was about to reboot my iPad Air 2 when it did a respring. After that the share sheet worked.
I have no 3rd party keyboards installed. It still did a respring.
