Artists will more than 3 albums will now show a sub album folder display instead of all the songs.
YESSSSS !!!! I CAN FINALLY LISTEN TO LINKIN PARK AGAIN! I have like 20 albums including lives and B-Sides and EPs and LPUs.

Lyrics are back
Yup, and they are laughable. Small fonts, no line breaks. They didn't even put an effort into this.

And you know why? Because they're working on something big regarding the lyrics. I don't know what, but it'll be presented at WWDC. The guys at Beats know it's important for a superior music experience.
(Hint : Probably something like Shazam, where the lyrics scroll down in real time as the song is playing.)

Putting any political views aside, I always find it hilarious when people use the "thanks Obama" line when the situation is not political in nature. Cracks me up.

I actually laughed out loud when I read the Obama line. We have a local talk radio show that says the same thing when they are talking about something in the media that went wrong. They like to point out the absurdity of blaming Obama for everything. Ok now back to 8.4. I'm looking forward to the release. Each one is getting better and what it should have been when 8.0 was released.

artists have sub album folders now instead of a long list of songs. if u have more than 3 albums of the artist that is

While I agree this is a step in the right direction I can't understand why it has to be more than 3.
In my opinion it should be artists with more than 1 album. Just like it was in iOS 6. If you have 2 or 3 albums by an artist you still have the scrolling.

I also can't see the point in Recently Added. Is there an option to turn that off yet?

Can anyone speak to any changes around photo / camera roll performance. On my 6 Plus there is a huge lag after taking a photo before I can click on it to view it. If this beta has fixed that then I'll go ahead and upgrade.

In Control Center on iPads, the song info bar has flipped places with the scrub bar (as shown below).

fixed: tapping song title in Control Center launches music app, wasn't working in beta 2

- New per song indicator flags, noting when tracks are stored locally on device.

- new "Show Music Available Offline" switch in the dropdown switch in the Music App.

- Artists will more than 3 albums will now show a sub album folder display instead of all the songs.

- When you are in an album, you can now tap the artist's name to take you to their artist page on your device.

Beats Relaunch IMMINENT

quick question

quick question.

iPhone 6, 8.3 or 8.4 beta 3 ?

Which system is more stable and fast ?

Starting in beta 1, Podcasts app has crashed like crazy and has been a mess to use. It happens primarily around downloading podcasts. Had to switch to Overcast which hasn't been a bad thing.

8.3.

Anything is better than the stock <insert any Apple app (bar Messages and Photos) here> app.

8.4 b3 changes

- Finally the '...' menu pop-up works for items within a search. Unfortunately, there's no way to add any item to the queue.

- A slightly more useful Up Next with the attached modal - you can now simply replace currently playing songs instead of adding to Up Next and then skipping the track. Unfortunately only seems to respect queue items added from Music view.

- There's a slight regression where the modal does not show up when you're playing through a playlist (on shuffle or otherwise). This means tapping a song [mistakenly] changes the current song and clears the playlist, which was not the case before.

has anyone noticed this? I'm so glad they integrated Siri with 'Up Next' functionality (i first noticed this in beta 2.)

Nice, I'm hoping 8.4 will be a milestone for the Music app when Apple announces it at WWDC, along with their streaming service. If Apple play their cards right, I might even cancel my Spotify subscription.

Battery life

Wow upgraded last night and charged all night as usual. IPhone 6 + apple watch.

Battery this time of day is usually about 75% and today its on 45%
What's going on with battery drain its getting worse.

If only there was a way to see battery usage on the phone.

When will people learn that iOS takes couple days after an update?
Had this since iOS 4.

Edit: and it's a beta. Everyone who can't live with the consequences should stop updating to beta versions.

Apparently Facebook is the highest drain at 17%, then mail then home & lock screen ? but that still doesn't equate to how its used 30% more today compared to yesterday.

As mentioned a couple posts up. iOS re indexes after updates and takes a day or two to settle back in. And like mentioned as well a couple posts above, it's beta, you can't judge battery on something that is mid development. Wait for 8.4 release and re indexing to judge.

For me it's been normal battery life. No real difference from 8.2, 8.3 to 8.4 PB1 + PB2.

Give it a few days and charging cycles and see how it's performing over that time.
