Another minor detail is that this update is a joke. You'd assume after the release of a lacklustre OS with only a drastic redesign and no real great features, that the next iteration would be feature packed.

Guys! Don't feed the troll or else he'll come back.....

Too late.

iOS 8, All The Little Things! [Features Discovered in iOS 8]

Anyone think/hope that we'll get more dynamic wallpapers in IOS 8 GM?

Kinda seems strange that Apple finally introduced them in iOS7 then never really gave us anymore. I'd be happy with a slow moving wave similar to the sony xperia one.

Yes! there will be new wallpapers and some new ringtones too in GM.
And maybe we will see some new features. ;)

I'm surprised we have never seen more dynamic wallpapers. Kind of silly how there is just one in multiple colours. Was hoping for at least a few new ones in iOS 8.

Lots of 'features' Will come this time because we're finally going to have apps making use of them like the keyboards, widgets and quick reply options (think Facebook and stuff using quick reply code)

New ringtones and wallpapers are not features. That's why the person I quoted listed them separately. Go re-read what the person I quoted said.

Features are things like quick reply, etc.
Didn't Siri show up in a GM build?

I haven't been following iOS8. Has there been any changes in blocking contacts? Such as options for choosing what the person sees or hears?

Those features are already in the beta. Apps won't use those features until after GM as the won't be able to submit until GM is released, Apple won't let them out to the public until iOS 8 final is released, which will be after GM.

----------

What beta is it now?

Beta 5. Carriers/Partners have Beta 6

No. It came with a new device.
But it's not a hardware feature per se (even though it needs some level of processing and microphone abilities), as much as it is something that is in the OS, so I'm trying to recall when it was revealed as being in iOS, and if it was when the GM of an iOS version was being released.

You're missing the point of the post by the person I was replying to, which is what I was answering. There will be no new surprise features in GM for the iPhone 5S or earlier. Only the previous revealed features.

Siri was hardware dependent/restricted. For the 4S only. It was not in any iOS 5 GM released for the iPhone 4 or below. It was revealed as a feature of the 4S as it was specifically for that device onwards.

The point is, there will be no new features in the iOS 8 GM that's released. There will be new features announced at the iPhone 6 reveal, but again, these will be iPhone 6 only features.

Sure, hardware dependent, but still mostly a software feature that simply needed a little more power for the most part (not necessarily some sort of new hardware piece that was solely behind it, like let's say TouchID).

Again, still not a feature in a GM.
Well, I would say a feature of a new version of iOS that wasn't revealed until the GM (in conjunction with and perhaps limited to new hardware abilities). So basically something new we find out about being in the iOS version that has been in beta when there's a GM (and new hardware) announcement.

It was revealed at the same time as GM being released, but it wasn't in the GM. It's not the same thing as the guy I was quoting was on about tho. Do you realise that?!

It was in the GM, just no supported hardware (in customer hands at least) to use it at that point. Sounds like we are splitting hairs here though.

But it wasn't in the GM that was released for the iPhone 4 or before. There was no GM released for the iPhone 4S, which is where Siri would have been. That's the point. We are not splitting hairs. You just cannot admit being wrong.

There will be new features for the iPhone 6, but these will not appear in the GM for iOS 8 when it comes out for the iPhone 5S and earlier. Like the person I was quoting was asking about. Which you keep neglecting to acknowledge.

Okay guys, we are talking about all the new little features in iOS 8, not whether Siri was found in a GM build or not, way back, years ago. Whatever happened or didn't happen, it doesn't relate to a discussion pertaining to iOS 8.
