I agree, there are already really bad examples of how to do widgets and I think the Yahoo Weather one is one of them.
Definitely.
The SkyGuide widget, I think is nice.

FB Messenger updated. I've not used it yet but I hope it solves all the refresh issues etc.
No quick reply
with iOS8 now, there is a location icon next to my batter icon.
wasn't there before.
is there a quick way to know which app is making this icon appear?
i don't really want to go through the apps one by one...
thanks.
Go to Settings > Privacy > Location and look for purple arrow, it shows which app is currently using your location.

Very nice. Didn't even think about wanting something like that until I realized it was available.TeeVee (TV Show tracker) updated to support widgets, so now you can see dates when your shows are airing.

Gmail updated, and it finally has a flat icon! Only took a year.
So far I only see one with a link to some video update and not any actual weather information or anything like that.the weather channel app for iPhone has been upgraded to version 6.3 and includes widgets!![]()

At one point I thought that might be it. I don't see why it can't show the weather for your home location or first saved location basically as it can within the app without location services enabled. Same goes for the built-in Apple Weather app which also won't display in the Notification Center unless location services are enabled for it even though it could simply display the first saved location there too.I believe you need to have location services turned on and any settings within the app for local weather turned on in order for the widget to pick it up. I was getting just the play video on the widget and I turned on location services in the app and in settings and then the local weather appeared. I tried another weather app with widgets and it required the same thing. For me, I will sacrifice not having weather on my today screen in order to preserve battery. It is eating it up fast, I don't want to add to that by keeping location services on all the time.
Fitbit updated but no mention of iOS 8 updates or integration with HealthKit. Still doesn't show up as a source in HK. I guess it is delayed a bit.
