definitely really good battery life so far, to me it seems like the whole OS is running a lot more efficiently then iOS 7...

Agreed. I've added 20 more minutes of usage and 40 more minutes of standby time and I'm only down another 6%. May not be at iOS 6 levels but so far it's substantially better than iOS 7.

wow! thats fantastic! definitely not as good as ios 6, but much better than iOS 7, efficiency has just been brutal since the day it came out...

Not seeing a huge battery drain either, although I haven't really used my phone as much yet since I installed the beta, mostly had it on the charger.

I'm now at 75% battery with 1.5 hours of usage and just over 4 hours of standby time.

Extrapolating this out, I would get 6 hours of usage and 16 hours of standby roughly.

That would be outstanding and an excellent improvement over iOS 7.

Re collaborated the battery last night and I'm impressed

I haven't had the same battery experience. Phone is at 7% right now and usually at 30-40% by the time I go home which is in about 3.5 hours.

What iPhone do you have? If its a 4s, then it's likely going to do substantially less possibly even on an iPhone 5. I've got a Verizon 5S.

Battery is terrible on my 5s, and that's the only thing making me consider switching back to 7.1.1. BUT I didn't to a clean install, so I might try that first.

I didn't do a clean install. I didn't even install from a backup. Although, I did make sure to backup prior to the install.

Battery life seems better than it normally would be on 7.1.1 .
5s 32 Gb Space Gray, clean install of iOS 8 Beta 1.

My battery life is awful, and you could make scrambled eggs on the phone from the heat. While normally after my day I have ~65% I had 18% when I got home today. Crazy. Using an iPhone 5 32gb.

Battery life is awful for me unplugged at 100% and two hours later I was at 47% with hardly any usage. For some reason the App Store is constantly triggering the location service so I'm assuming it's that. Turning it off in settings does nothing.

That's my exact problem also. The GPS is constantly active because of the App Store. Although after a full charge today the battery seems to be better compared to yesterday

Major Battery Bug iPod Touch 5g ios 8

It only reads 100% or 20% on ipod touch 5g. When I reboot it willl go to 20% when its not pluged in and as soon as you plug it in it reads 100% The usage in setting perapps never shows too.

Anyone else have this issue?

I got my ipsw from a french site. Should I try a diffrent ipsw or are they all the same for the ipod touch 5g.

I did report the bug to apple with the bug reporter.

I reinstalled the ipsw 3 times and same issue.

I'm having this problem too. Every time I check my phone my location is being used by the app store.

I disabled gps completely. Was the only way to get the App Store to knock it off. It ignores the app specific setting in privacy settings.

app store drain

Had the issue and changed the Allow Location Access to 'Never' and the usage dropped from 20%+ to less than 4% for the same period of time.
