iOS 8 Beta 3 Tidbits: iCloud Drive Access, New Handoff Setting, and More

Facebook App Pictures?

For whatever reason, Facebook is not showing pictures in b3. I have tried removing and re-installing with no luck.


Anyone else with this issue?

It seems if you have a life during the weekends and don't go to bed the same time on fri/sat night you're penalised for this.

Perhaps they'll improve it in iOS 9 or 10 or X or whatnot.

Various people reported this kind of thing. Not everyone seems to experience it though for whatever reason.

The only way to see this information is to scroll up. Don't worry, it won't clutter your view.

I wasn't the one worrying about it. I rather like all of this information being available. When I lived in SoCalI couldn't imagine how seeing more than just the temperature was useful. Having lived in the midwest and New England now, I realize that termperature is about the least useful bit of info lol.
 
"Return to Safari" shortcut bar

Not sure if this has been spotted before but when you google a location in Safari and click on it he map on top of search results - it will open Google maps app but there it will also show a black bar on top of the screen saying "Return to Safari". That's quite handy!

I'm having the same exact issue. It happened in Beta 2 until I did a fresh install and reinstalled my apps from scratch. Seemed to work fine until Beta 3. It worked ok in the beginning but now all the pics are gone. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing. Sucks but I more than understand it's a Beta.
 
Wifi not connecting/hanging, multiple rebooting

Is anyone else on 8b3 having issues with the wifi? I had a pre-established connection with my router (Airport Extreme) and now it takes multiple tries to make the connection work even though it'll show the name. It'll look like it is connecting then the name vanishes and reappears in the bottom section, only to go back to connecting, go back to the bottom area and after the third try or so it connects.

Also my 5S seems to restart itself every so often as I am using it. I once had it restart twice in 30 seconds. And I don't mean a complete restart, I mean the screen goes black and the white Apple logo shows up. After 5 seconds I can use Touch ID to log back in but it'll do this in the middle of podcasts and I have to restart the podcast over and over again.

I submitted bugs for these but I am wondering if I am the only one here that is going through this. I am thinking of doing a factory reset and doing a fresh install as a new device. Previously I did 8b1 as an update and the next 2 beta installs as OTA.
 
Missed calls notifications seems to keep showing up after being noticed.

A positive thing is that Hand Off now works flawlessly between my iPhone 5s and iPad air.
 
Handoff/Continuity is much smoother, web page load quickly from safari os x to safari iOS for example, mail on os x will actually load to the message you were viewing or working on every time instead of once every 3 times. My 5s boots a good 20 seconds faster than betas 1 or 2, however my phone has been reseting more than with beta 1 or 2, but given the quicker booting time; ill call that a wash. With iCloud Drive I can already tell I'm gonna get the 20gb/.99/month plan i just wish they'd let us upgrade now instead of still the old plans. Yosemite looks beautiful it is seriously a masterpiece of transparent wonder; now that dark modes available not much more than they do except give us that fancy red iTunes ;)

answer your phone then ;) lmao i haven't missed a call yet w/ b3 i can't say yes or no to that one, but i can completely agree with Hand Off being flawless. Its very very G, capital G,angsta.
 
Health Kit actually shows some data! Don't know if that's new but I personally has not noticed any data there until now.

Handoff not working between rMBP L-2013 and 4S

I've got a late 2013 rMBP and iPhone 4S (both on latest betas), and handoff ain't working for me. AT ALL.
I've tried turning the Handoff settings on both devices on and off, unpaired phone and mac and re-paired them, wiped icloud and re-added both together in sync, still nothing. Tried a Numbers beta on iOS and not showing at all. This is happening both ends - and also the calls I can answer but cannot be heard on other end of phone.
Any ideas?
