Just wondering did you install on an IPhone? Do you have a developer account or used another way to get the beta? I ask because I have very few issues with B4.

iPhone 5 in Canada on Fido's network (Rogers'). A few other people have reported the same problem in another thread.

In fact I was a paid developer until Beta 3, where my 1 year expired and I have not renewed yet because I can still update OS X and iOS through Software Update and Xcode for free (no need to be a paid dev).

That is the point of my question "a few other people" something obviously is different for you and those with problems. Since many more are not experiencing problems this begs the question.

For people who are having troubles with continuity, this worked for me. Send a text from your iPhone, just once. Then, my iPod would send texts.

Daily driver? Sure it can...it all depends how much you are willing to deal with. For me I always want the latest and greatest things so of course I'm in on all for everything I use if available.

Anyway...unless you are creating some documents or something on your phone that you don't want to lose because of a crash then go for it an install it. I have had every beta since before ios 4 and I have to say that the iOS 8 betas have been the worst of them all. I think a couple iOS beta 5's may have been worse, but it's been so long and hard to remember.

Slowly the beta 8 's are getting better but even with me with tons of patience for stuff like this it's starting to get to me. Probably 3-4 voluntary phone restarts on my part everyday to fix something, then about another 4-5 spring board crashes/restarts every day.

But hey we're talking only a few minutes each day it interrupts you..still worth it IMO

I'm almost trouble free on Beta 4, which has been a HUGE departure from the other three betas. 1,2, and 3 were unbearably bad for me.

Jumped in on beta 4 and had no probs really.

Had a small prob setting up as it would restart the process after setting which numbers/email addresses I could be contacted on. Skipping it and doing it via settings after sorted that.

Only other thing, but maybe a Yosemite thing, is when using the iMac to make/answer a call, my end on the mac the caller sounds slow and deep and on the phone the other end I sound like a chip monk.

Apart from that I'm enjoying it.

There are a few glitches, but I am basically using it as by daily driver. I have two iPhone 5S - one is mine and one is for development testing. After a week or so with Beta 4 on the test phone, I swapped SIMS, so I am running RLT with Beta 4.

Should something go south in this process, it’s a simple matter of swapping SIMs.

Beta 4 has been great for me as my daily driver. I had some annoying issues with all leading up to 4 but all has been well so far (fingers crossed).

Been using my iPhone w/ beta 4 for a few days as a daily driver...minor bugs but its stable for me. My phone heats tremendously during use though.

No it's not. Unless....

I have a iPhone 5, 16g. Installed directly from iTunes and it rebooted multiple times. Refused to complete setup when I choose to use iCloud (skipping that let me finish). After several hours, I still didn't have contacts (probably not done syncing from iCloud... oh wait it wouldn't let me login as my Apple ID because I was already logged in... but it asserted I wasn't).

So here's the "unless" - I imagine that if you got through initial setup cleanly and it synced back your information then it would be OK as long as you understand that it will be buggy, might crash, etc. If you're expecting it to be as smooth and bug-free as 7.1 then, no, it's not ready.

Me, I restored 7.12 since my iPhone is my only phone and I need it to be more stable than B4 felt.

Keep in mind that most apps aren't yet using cool stuff like Handoff so the utility of iOS8 isn't really there yet. Some things (Quicktype) are there and handy, but honestly, the OS isn't that compelling on its own. It's a bit more compelling if you're using Yosemite, but really, the power of the update will become far more apparent as apps update to take advantage of the new features.

For me it's fine- 99 apps, iTunes Match, all apps work, data works, no heat, no resprings, one or two times a couple of native apps closes automatically and apart from that it's perfectly usable. Can only get better.

That's your opinion.

A lot are people are finding that it IS stable enough for daily use.

"Oh my goodness" ... that's your opinion, and like rectums, everyone has one. iOS 8, simply put, is a beta. Stability today could turn into a reeking pile of crap tomorrow. It's a beta, not ready for prime time. It's an individuals choice to install it or not install it, but do it wisely, knowing how to recover when a given beta proves it tain't ready for prime time.

What? Yes, I know that's my opinion. And yes, I know iOS 8 is in the beta stage. What are you trying to tell me? I'll say it again as it seems it hasn't got into your head.

Most people are finding that iOS 8 beta 4 is suitable as a daily driver. Yes, of course there are bugs but if you can handle it, it's fine.

Just installed on my daily and iPad Air to test it out and don't seem to be having any issues. I'm usually ambitious and install betas but for me the integration with 10.10 would make any issues worth it.

Works great for me.
iPhone 5S 64GB and iPad mini retina LTE 64GB.

Installed B4 on both my devices as an update (did not do a complete restore) - ie. Option click the restore button and select file.

Been working fine for a few days now. No reboots or resprings. Haven't found an issue with any app yet. My Wifi, bluetooth, iTunes match etc. all work fine.

Only think I am not sure of is where my pictures are in iCloud (eg. photo stream) because I think there is transition to the new iCloud photos. But I am not concerned right now with that. I made sure I backed up everything first.

Got mine as a daily driver on my iPhone 4S.
I was on iOS 7 beta last year from beta 4-6 and worked well, and been on iOS 8 beta since week 1, beta 1. Love it - had the few bugs, but didn't stop me from using it, and every beta it's better and better! Except now that they disabled Handoff! But the connection of answering calls on my mac works (I have Yosemite DP) and it's just a good beta!

I have Beta 4 on iPhone 5, no problems at all. Started with Beta 1 and this is definitely the most stable.

No problems with Phone app or messaging, no crashing as some people have been mentioning.

Honestly, for me it's not ready to be a daily driver.

Installed Beta 4 on a new iPhone 5S 64GB, and too many apps are not working.

Amongst them several on the "Working" list found in this forum: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter amongst others.

So for now, It's a no-go as a daily driver.

Daily Driver Indeed.

Yeah, iPhone 5 works well running iOS 8 Beta 4.

Usage is pretty good, always remember "there will be bugs." (It's a beta of course)
My Battery Rating for it- 7.5/10
Pretty descent, It'll get you through your day. It's beyond the terrifying beta 2.

Daily Driver Indeed. Go for it.
