I just have this issue with my wife Iphone 6+ and it didn't want to connect to her MBenz. Not sure what happen, but I've turn off Icloud and reconnect the phone and it work and turn Icloud back on. I saw somewhere to turn Icloud off and it will work. This is sad on apple part that you have to go though all this trouble to get this to work.

iphone 6 and Bluetooth

Tried the turn off the find my phone as a solution, no go. Come on apple fix the Bluetooth connect problems in the autos with IPhone 6 plus.

Apple should just release an iOS 8.0.3 update within the next 48 hours just to fix the Bluetooth connectivity issue. The problem is that iOS 8.1 won't be out until probably late this month at earliest, especially since 8.1 will incorporate Apply Pay for the first time.

6Plus..no problems

Upgraded from a 4s to the 6Plus with IOS 8.0. Absolutely no problems. I have an Acura TL. I deleted the 4s from the Hands Free Link and paired the 6Plus.

Everything worked perfectly with bluetooth first time. Apparently I'm one of the lucky ones. I have no intention of upgrading to the 8.01. I will wait for the next upgrade....cause if it ain't broke, I ain't fixing it. Went thru hell when I upgraded my 4s to the 7.1...not going down that road again!

It's rather ironic that be it Bluetooth, WiFi or other wireless protocol, Apple's struggled over and over for years seemingly failing to understand and master these systems so as to achieve successful results on a consistent basis. Not too much unlike their very public embarrassing failure with MobileMe, causing a very rare event when Steve Jobs got up and apologized after acknowledging just how significant Apple's failure was.

In fact Apple's ongoing struggle with wireless technologies seems to be why iPhone's were tethered via USB for so long, to iTunes which in turn required a computer. It was "normal" for Apple at a time when other platforms and brands were truly wireless. Of all the Mac laptops I've owned for years not one has offered cellular connectivity like my ThinkPad business issue laptops had as standard equipment that always worked perfectly.

With some luck perhaps Apple will get serious about reliable wireless systems within their products, proving what I already know. That is the fact that this would be very easy for Apple to solve if they simply applied themselves. When Apple gets serious they build fine products. That's why I've remained a long standing customer. :)

What if the driver's phone is not readily available and tucked away in a pocket, brief case, or purse? How is the driver supposed to go into speaker mode then?

Uhhhhhhh, he doesn't? Plenty of drivers don't even wear bluetooth at all and they are all alive.

My point is that issues like these are not news worthy, Im not saying it should not be fixed, it just doesn't deserve an article about it, like hello.

I've never seen so many public issues with iOS (and even OS X) before iOS 8, besides Maps in iOS 7, especially in subsequent public builds. What the hell happened to your quality control, Apple?

As a long-time Apple user, and pretty dedicated Apple fan..... I hate to agree.

The GM of iOS8 (and iOS7) weren't ready. Since iOS7, I haven't been able to successfully tether my phone wirelessly; which wasn't fixed in iOS8... performance is still random.. keyboard bugs, graphics mistakes, kernel panics... Even Camera.app is choppy. What gives?!

I reported bluetooth audio problems with iOS8 + iPhone 5 while in the beta stages (nice and complete reports, too), and they were never resolved.

iTunes Match has issues playing certain matched songs; No solution for two years. There are many forums on troubles with Match and no solutions. I know they're working hard at Apple, but they need to slow down with the new and fix some problems first. Many people came to Apple to enjoy a buttery smooth experience.

Finally fixed!

Thanks Nem!

Finally fixed the BT connecting issue by disabling Find my iPhone, reset network settings, then repaired the connection between Audi MMI with my iPhone 6 with iOS8.0.2.

bluetooth doesn't connect

Received our 6's and a 6+ end of last week. Did set up at Verizon store. The Bluetooth doesn't work on my Chevy PU, wireless speaker, 2 earbuds, o Ipad.
Called Apple and went through there steps, couldn't fix. Told to wait for new update to fix. But also suggested going to Apple store 125 miles away to review. But no guarantee that it will get fixed. Did not work on 8.1 or 8.2.
Showed devices as not connected in Bluetooth area and when tapped would not highlight to delete device.
Searches and searches and searches.......

I've come across a lot of bugs since iOS 8 Beta 1, but I must give this to them : I've never seen a Bluetooth problem between my iPhone 5 and my car radio. It's a custom aftermarket JVC radio though from 2012... don't know if it changes anything.

What happens though, since my iPhone 3GS and iOS 4 I think, is that the vocal commands will sometimes take long to detect (> 20 seconds), and sometimes it will even go as far as to disconnect my phone. It's also been doing it with my iPhone 5 since I've had it.

Reported it to JVC and it doesn't appear to be a problem on their side. Are old Bluetooth protocols unreliable ? I don't know.

I don't know if it's the iOS 8.0 release. I'm a developer and used all of the beta releases, then the gold master release and had no problems. That's right - zip, nada, NO issues with any Bluetooth connectivity on my iPhone 5.

Initially with my iPhone 6 Plus, which I did restore with a backup of my iPhone, I had not problems, but after installing the iOS 8.0.2 update, I can no longer place a phone call from my 2014 Mercedes ML350.

I can do everything else with my iPhone and my car except place a phone call. I can stream Bluetooth audio from my iPhone, but when I switch the infotainment system to the phone section, I get a big notification of no connection with my carrier, even though on my iPhone I have anywhere from 2 to 5 dots. I can place a call from the phone if I were to pick it up and hold it up to my ear. The problem is that using a cell phone in my car in that manner is against both state law and on-base regulations (I work on an Army base). Furthermore, if I have a hands-free system in my car, I want to use it as such.

I'm trying out the first iOS 8.1 beta and will post my results later today.

Did you set up your new iphones from a previous backup or start as a new phone?

I'm trying out the first iOS 8.1 beta and will post my results later today.

Please keep us informed. Thnx.

iOS 8 feels like it was extremely rushed and unfinished and they still shipped it. This is going to be Apple's version of Windows Vista.

Well, I can confirm that the iOS 8.1b1/b2 releases both solved my Bluetooth hands-free issue! As for LTE, it depends on where you are. I work on Schofields Barracks, an Army base here on Oahu, and 4G is actually much faster than LTE in my building. I'm on AT&T, and we are at the very edge of coverage, at least on the maps that AT&T shows.

I noticed another strange thing on my way home today. I left my iPhone 6 Plus on 4G and had a great signal. When I switched it to allow for LTE for both voice and data (I don't have the manual switch), I noticed that at first I got a NO SIGNAL on both my iPhone and my infotainment system. I watched as the phone switched itself over to 4G, after which I got the booming signal back.

I don't know if this is an Apple or AT&T issue, but LTE seems to be severely affected, even though we have the upgrade LTE chip in both iPhone 6 models. For those of you that still experience the no signal issue while attempting to place a hands-free call, you may want to either switch off LTE or manually switch to 4G, in case you have that manual switch. It's found in Settings -> Cellular. You'll either see Enable LTE or another menu item for the manual switching between available networks.

I guess that's what happens when you have a hard date for delivery. In my opinion, it should have just been announced at the iPhone event, then released later. Of core, that will never happen that way.

I understand they had a hard date for the 6/6+ launch. But I think it would have been smarter to release them with iOS7 and launched iOS8 alongside Yosemite since there's so much dependency to get a lot of the new features anyways.

FYI now works for me with iOS 8.1 beta 2

FYI I was having the car bluetooth issues and they seem to be resolved in 8.1 beta 2.

Did have to delete entry from phone and car and once paired had to turn off car and then back on before it worked.

Spoke too soon, still issues with 8.1 beta 2

From another post I made on these forums...

The iCloud thing didn't fix it for me. I have no old devices so removed my current devices from iCloud then added them back in. Now when I try it in my car, the audio system was silent and it didn't acknowledge the SD card with my music. I powered the unit down and as soon as I did that, a phone call showed up on my dashboard even though nothing was on my iPhone. The number was the last person I called.
Now on my IPhone under Bluetooth devices, I have my MacBook Pro and two upwards. These devices are either on Yosemite or iOS 8 and these devices never showed up on the iPhone under Bluetooth devices before with iOS 7.
I'm guessing this is all related to hand off / continuity which I believe uses Bluetooth. The iPhone connects to the car but thinks it is connected to one of the two ipads or the MacBook Pro. As soon as you try to make or receive a call, it can't be completed on those devices and so falls back to the iPhone.
That may also explain why occasionally as soon as the iPhone connects to the car, the car shows an incoming call that isn't actually on the phone but was the number of the last phone call you made or received. When you connect to the car, iOS thinks it is handing off and tries to reconnect the last call.

Has anyone had issues who don't have any other devices listed under Bluetooth devices?

Wish I could agree. I have a Kenwood Excelon unit and it has intermittently had every single issue I've read in this thread. I've tried most of the fixes, those intermittently help, also.

i6 still on iOS 8.0. Did not have these problems with i5 on iOS 7.x.

That sucks... Which Excelon model? I have the X996. All I did was delete the old pairing of my 5s and pair up the 6. Hands free, audio, phone book. It all works.

The issues seem really random. People with all makes and models report success and failure. I wonder what the issue is :/

Okay, I believe I have finally got this resolved fully for myself, I've tried everything to replicate the issues after trying this fix and so far it is holding up for me. This fix has a caveat though, you will lose Handoff - at least until Apple can fix this.

The steps are:
  1. Check on your iPhone under Bluetooth devices for any iOS devices running iOS 8 or Macs running Yosemite. These devices will be listed automatically and if you select the ! icon, the option to ' Forget this device' will be greyed out. Take a note of these devices.
  2. Unpair your Bluetooth connection from your car.
  3. Go to each of the devices in turn from the first step and turn off Handoff. iOS - Settings \ General \ Handoff & Suggested Apps \ Handoff. Mac - Settings \ General \ 'Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices".
  4. Now select 'Reset All Settings' on your iPhone under Settings \ General \ Reset.
  5. After the iPhone restarts, turn off 'Handoff' on your iPhone - Settings \ General \ Handoff & Suggested Apps \ Handoff
  6. Now, turn Bluetooth back on. The devices from step 1 should no longer be showing.
  7. Pair your iPhone with your car. All should be working fine now.

The above will continue to work provided you leave the 'Handoff' option disabled on all your devices. The 'Reset Networking' option did not work, there must be some setting stored which is only affected by the 'Reset all settings'. This means you will need to do some device configuration again after the reset such as wallpaper, sounds and other personalisations but this should not take long to put back.

X997, latest firmware, deleted all other pairs. Sometimes it is perfect, sometimes it randomly fails in various ways. The worst is when there is no audio anywhere when trying to have a phone call. Hands-free isn't much benefit when you have to troubleshoot at 60mph.

With my iPhone 5, the only problem I had was the Kenwood mic not turning on for phone calls sometimes. So, I could hear a caller, but they could not hear me. The 6 is all over the place.

I will try deleting the 6 and re-pairing, maybe that will help.

Same with my 2006 Prius.... tried with 2 different iPhone 6s and both iOS 8 and 8.02. Been working with an Apple rep on it for a week.

Did you ever get the issue resolved, or did Apple say they're working on a fix?

My iPhone 6+ was very expensive, and it really should be able to perform such a simple task properly.

I had trouble at first with my Blue&Me in my 2012 Fiat 500 and my new iPhone 6. It refused to save me contact phone book and required a sync every time I got in the car.

I solved it by deleting the Blue&Me connection and then going through the process of pairing the phone to my car again. Everything works fine now.

Everything is still working fine after I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.0.2

bluetooth still not connecting

So Apple online support could not fix connect problems to my Plantronics or Jabra ear bud or my Chevy Avalanche. Made appointment with Genius Bar at Apple store 100 miles away just to be sure. They could not fix and it didn't work on techs 6 either. One week later still no answer or patch?!
