I just unlocked my iPod 5th gen. After doing so, I can't access neither Notification Center, or Control Center. I had to hard reset to get em working. Today the music app quit suddenly. In the past, iOS 7 would occasionally freeze, lag was up the ass... I don't care how anyone defends this, this is not the Apple I know. Prior to iOS7 I never had a single issue, and I'm not exaggerating. I'm not buying another iDevice until they get their **** together. I wanna spend my money on quality, not ****ing brand.

I'm having a bit of an odd issue that I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing.

For me, I was able to pair my iPhone 6 Plus to my 2007 Prius just fine, but there is a problem when using Siri.

I can say "Call My Wife", and Siri will start to try, but fail. An entry will show up in my call history, but it will never even ring.

I believe the problem is that Siri tries to use my car's Bluetooth connection to listen to me, but hangs up the Bluetooth connection prematurely as the phone tries to make the call.

The process works fine if I'm not connected to Bluetooth.

Does that happen to anyone else?

I had trouble at first with my Blue&Me in my 2012 Fiat 500 and my new iPhone 6. It refused to save me contact phone book and required a sync every time I got in the car.

I solved it by deleting the Blue&Me connection and then going through the process of pairing the phone to my car again. Everything works fine now.

Has anyone tried the turning off find my iPhone fix I posted a few pages back?

Definitely fixed mine.

As a huge Apple fan, I have to say this is the worst roll-out of products and services in the company's history. And right when they needed to blow the world away...

And the first big launch under the exclusive leadership of Tim Cook. Streaming was an epic fail. iOS 8 is has more problems than any previous release... I think it's time someone got fired.

Add me to the list of people with problems. I picked up my iPhone 6 yesterday, updated to the most current software and can't connect to my JBL speaker and Samsung earpiece. I use that speaker at least 3-4 days each week so I hope this is resolved soon. People don't want to hear me signing to myself :)

I'll be trying to see if the phone will pair in my Hyundai Sonata later.

Follow-up, no problem setting the phone up in my '14 Sonata. It's just the JBL speaker and earpiece that won't work.

Same with my 2006 Prius.... tried with 2 different iPhone 6s and both iOS 8 and 8.02. Been working with an Apple rep on it for a week.

Don't blame the victims - Let Apple do what is does.

When actually any given issue is probably only happening to less than 1/100th of one percent of users and could in some cases actually be an issue that isn't about the software at all. Like that the car stereo is way old and doesn't support a new standard, someone spilled water on a phone and the bluetooth or wifi wiring is corroded.

The depth and length of this thread proves this is a massive problem. The age of the Bluetooth device is irrelevant. The Bluetooth standard has added features but owners of old devices that worked yesterday should have a reasonable expectation that they will continue to work unless told otherwise before purchase of a Bluetooth compatible device. There is no disclaimer and clearly the problem manifests itself in many different ways in many situations. Spilled water and corroded wiring is just silly. That didn't happen the second they sold their 4s and got a 6. One should never blame the victim. This is Apple's mess and they will need to clean it up.

PS: I am an unapologetic Apple supporter since the very first Mac computer. I have complete faith they will quickly solve this problem and it doesn't bother me over much that mistakes were made as long as the company continues to be supportive (a friendly and helpful genius can buy a lot of good will and patience) and moves efficiently toward a solution (as they did with iOS 8.01 which blew over in a day.)

I've never seen so many public issues with iOS (and even OS X) before iOS 8, besides Maps in iOS 7, especially in subsequent public builds. What the hell happened to your quality control, Apple?

There has been no quality control at apple since Steve Jobs told millions that would listen in ref. to the reception of the iphone 4. I lose reception and drop calls when I hold it like this, Jobs response "Don't hold it like that, hold is like this, or this". Apple could rule the cell phone world if they would just give half a **** about minor things. BTW, IOS 8.0 had problems with bluetooth connecting for the 4s and the 6-plus. 8.0.2 has the same problems. 3rd party keyboards locked my keyboard closed to the point that i couldn't resp to txt, no FB status, no web searches. DELETED. Works fine now. So if I'm windy, this is my very first post on MacRumors. Long time reader though.

Us Mazda 5 owners get a double-whammy, because the car loses Bluetooth capability on a semi-regular basis and the only remedy is to unplug the car battery, get in the car and tap the brake pedal, and then re-connect the battery.

*You* Mazda 5 owner get a double whammy, not *us* Mazda 5 owners. My Bluetooth is connected before I get my seatbelt on and stays connected unfailingly, with a small radius around the car even of I get out. The Apple BT is so much easier and reliable than my (otherwise exceptionally dependable) Galaxy S2.

2011 nissan frontier, wife calls with blue tooth, i answer and i can hear her still trying to get the blue tooth to "Call Tim Green" i'm laughing but the hands free could cause her to wreck I guess. We have had problems with Siri too since the 8.0 update

Hey Apple

How about you stop making fancy dresses and gimmick watches and stick to your knitting?

No problems on my Kenwood aftermarket Double Din DVD system although it does act weird with my motorola elite sliver.

I've never had a moment's problem with my Alfa Romeo. Normal service is all that's necessary.

It's more of a joke than reality... they USED to be incredibly unreliable and fell to dust in a matter of years...

I actually love them :) An 8c is one of my dream cars.

Hi prowlmedia,

The brands unreliability seems to be legend. I've heard it so many times. Yesterday was a celebratory day here. I took my Alfa for the emissions test for the last time. At 25 years the test is no longer required to renew the tags.

I enjoy driving it so much. Mine is stock. It never occurred to me to retrofit with BT. This car is for driving, not talking :)

Have a good weekend!

Update: I initially updated to 8.0.2 OVER-THE-AIR (iPhone 6). This morning I decided to do a restore via iTunes to 8.0.2 and my Bluetooth calling via Ford SYNC is now working!!

If you initially UPGRADED OTA it can't hurt to try to restore via iTunes.

Bluetooth Connectivity Fix for Acura

Bluetooth connectivity issue resolved, might be temporary but here's how:

I have a 2014 Acura RLX and an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2(12A405). The following steps remedied my issue:

Sign OUT OF iCloud. To do this execute the following from your iPhone 6 / iPhone 6+ :
Settings>iCloud
Scroll to the bottom and tap Sign Out

I tested after executing the above two ways: called my iPhone 6 with my corporate iPhone 5 and answer/hang up occurred flawlessly. Had a family member, who has an iPhone 6, phone me and answer/hang up occurred flawlessly as though I never had any issues -- no audio issues as well. If you try this, I hope it works for you as well.

Looks like being signed into iCloud is the culprit in this instance however I SHOULD NOT have to sign out of iCloud in order to be able to connect flawlessly with HandsfreeLink Bluetooth, I take this as a temp fix. Why do I state this: my corporate iPhone 5 with iOS 8.0.2(12A405) connects without me signing out of iCloud and sends/receives phone calls with out any issues - not even a call drop! Hopefully 8.2 will fix things....

8.1

When will we get the fix to the Bluetooth issues. Come on Apple get it together...

BT Headset Problem FIXED!

Has anyone tried the turning off find my iPhone fix I posted a few pages back?

Definitely fixed mine.

To Nem: Thank You!!! While my 6 Plus BT seems fine in my '07 Prius, my Rocketfish BT Headset simply wasn't being detected. In reading of all the bluetooth problems here, I, like others, had no problems, until IOS 8, I felt I would just have to be patient until 8.1 was released. THEN, I read post #455, regarding his success with turning off "Find my Iphone" and then retrying bluetooth. Well, it absolutely worked for me, with my bt headset now detectable,:) and easily paired. I then turned on "Find my iphone" and my headset is still working fine. There is no "rhyme nor reason" as to why this should fix this problem, but it did.

I agree with Nem, and I strongly suggest that others try this fix.

George
