Does anyone know of an app which actually uses your steps/distance data and converts that into active calories (based on additional data like weight, height and age) ?

RunGap is a fantastic find for fitness aggregation. It will pull your data from lots of sites. I used it to import all my Garmin Connect activities (must be well over a 1000 and took about 3 hours). It populated Health all the way back to January (as far as it goes, I think).

I used the Panera Bread app to add the caloric & nutrition information about my breakfast to the Health app. MyFitnessPal is supposed to be able to pull that information from the Health app, but I see nothing in MFP. Has anyone else been able to get this to work?

Nice find! Thank you!

Do you have it enabled to pull as well as push? Mine works both ways when I have both enabled.

Please show your support to get Fitbit to add Healthkit by going to this thread: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Requests/Integrate-with-iOS-8-Health-App/idi-p/319432

Good luck - it's pretty clear that Fitbit doesn't have any interest in enabling Healthkit integration any time soon - that would conflict with their "premium" service. There were 200+ votes for integration when I voted for it, and there are now 500+ votes, and the only thing that has changed is the first post has been updated to show they have no plans for integration. In this case, it's pretty clear that the voting doesn't matter.

I agree. I took it an extra step and alerted 4 blogs about it hoping that the additional pressure might help. We shall see if it gains any traction.

For me, this is a last ditch effort to get them to care about their customers. Otherwise I will move forward with getting a competing product to meet my needs.

I took the liberty of posting links to the iMore and 9-to-5 stories to the Fitbit "suggestion" forum. I moved to a Garmin Vivosmart and love it, though I miss software interface and the community from Fitbit. I'd move back for a Force-like product with Healthkit integration, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Unfortunately, I'm getting multiple step entries from the Garmin app into Healthkit, but at least they're talking...

I saw that. Hopefully Mac Rumors and Apple Insider will follow those two and post stories about it as well.

Any other sites we can tip off to this that might help build the support for the integration?

Maybe the wrong place and/or dumb question, but does RunGap take all data from say Map My Fitness and then push it on over to Healthkit? If that is all I use, Map My Fitness, then doesn't Map My Fitness already push to HealthKit? Somehow Health kit knows I walked 3 miles this morning and I didn't set anything up.

According to the Wiki (1st page) Map My Fitness is announced for Health. So if you want your data now you can use RunGap or wait on a Map My Fitness update. RunGap also is a fantastic way to view your activities.

Steps/milage is recorded by the iPhone/iPad's M7/8 chip and sent to Health.

Oh so the data came from the chipset originally in health kit? I get it now. I downloaded RunGap and it's great. I have MMF set up so now that will push to Healthkit?

Cyclometer 10.3.1 finally updated today with sharing workout to Health App. Did [Run/Walk]meter also make it?

Experiencing freezes in settings though. Anyone else? Not used it for a workout yet though, but I currently don't see the app in Health settings - perhaps the request comes up after first update (UPDATE: Confirmed).

UPDATE2: Suffering serious app freeze-ups thought across entire app (I'm on iOS 8.1 b2 though)

More often then not, when I open the health app my dashboard is empty. Has anyone else got this problem?

I am still having this issue after updating to 8.0.2. My dashboard is completely empty again today.

iOS 8 HealthKit Enabled Apps Megathread

Withings update is out now and includes Health support

The update is awesome how it shares so many data points with the health app. I have it sharing steps, weight (i have their scale), BMI, fat%, heart rate (user their checker in the app), and soon to be blood pressure when i get my Bluetooth monitor tomorrow!

Also note that if you enable step tracking sync with health and you already sync to health with another app, it will duplicate your data, meaning that it will double the actual amount of steps you have actually took.
