The update is awesome how it shares so many data points with the health app. I have it sharing steps, weight (i have their scale), BMI, fat%, heart rate (user their checker in the app), and soon to be blood pressure when i get my Bluetooth monitor tomorrow!

Also note that if you enable step tracking sync with health and you already sync to health with another app, it will duplicate your data, meaning that it will double the actual amount of steps you have actually took.

This is happening to me except it looks like my 5s is tracking my steps with the built in support of the M7. I can delete the data in the Health app, but it starts tracking again. Anybody experiencing this/got a fix? I was trying to find somewhere to disable it. Also it seems like Health Mate is duplicating it's own data sometimes...i'll see two or three entries in Health for the same or relatively similar amount of whatever it is for the same day.

You can determine what data is shared, and in what direction. If it's taking steps data from both the chip and Health, turn off one.

That's what i was asking, where can i turn off it taking steps from the M7 chip? i don't see an option anywhere in Settings or in Health to do that.

It doesn't show it in the Sources section because it's built in

You can never turn off the chip it's always on its part of the OS

Does that affect Active and Resting Calories then? That's the only reason I haven't turned it off is because i was worried it wouldn't record those if i turned off step tracking.

In the Share Data section you can arrange priority of the apps that count steps, including the iPhone. I have the Jawbone UP app listed first and while both record steps the ones reported are for the UP app.

The Health App is confusing as all heck. Especially with many apps not working with it.

Can someone explain to me what the Health App is/means listed here as a source for steps?

I've just added map my ride to the apps that will sync.. Does it pull in old data? Or will it only write data from now on?

Instant Heart rate updated, though cant work out why healthapp sync not working.

i had to power off the phone then back on to get the data from IHR to show in HealthApp. it does not load old data, just from the current date on. this is pretty true of all syncs to HealthApp, NO history is sync'ed up.

For those wondering about Fitbit ever integrating with Healthkit, some interesting news. They are getting ready to release their new tracker, and they sent out a firmware update. I have the Force, and I downloaded the firmware, and then I got the following email:

Hello,

We hope you had an awesome and active weekend! We noticed that sometime on Friday, you gained access to a firmware version that wasn’t meant to be public with features that aren’t necessarily final.

Please let us know of any specific issues you’ve experienced and we’ll be happy to provide further assistance.

Thanks,
The Fitbit Team

Long story short, I haven't had any problems, but what I have noticed is that I am now receiving call notifications on my Force. Not texts, unfortunately, but the call thing is pretty cool.

Here's the info about the new tracker.

Sleep Cycle is now updated with HK integration.

The integration isnt very good though, rather then pushing actual sleep time into HealthKit they just post the "time in bed" state (with wrong start/stop times as well)

Datapoints present but Dashboard showing 0..

Hi.

My small issue with the Health app is that my 'flights climbed' is taking data points and shows them in the 'show data points', but it doesn't update the graph.

Oddly, I have some data points with an icon like the health app, and some (the non-showing ones) with the icon of a phone.

I do not own ANY fitness tracking device other than the phone, so all of those data points come from... right, my phone, but for some reason the dashboard graphics only show the flights climbed tracked by the health app, and not those the phone tracked.

There's no difference in tracking when it comes to steps taken.

Reboots etc haven't changed a bit.
Any ideas?

The health heart means a manual entry through the health app. at least that's what showed up when I did a manual entry under another option

If you want to try another app try out mine, Sleeptrack. I get the sleep time based on value from the m7 chip. You can have data from multiple sources so you can definitely compare to see what has more accurate info.

Did the guy who handled Apple Maps work on HealthKit as well?? On my phone it's useless. Hope the same crew didn't do ApplePay as well

Quick question for anyone using Misfit via a tracker or a pebble watch.
If you count steps on there and sync to the app on the phone, when that data is imported into Health, does it duplicate the steps calculated on the tracker and the iPhone, or is the app clever enough to know they have tracked movement at the same time and merges the data??

I have a misfit. It seems clever enough and doesn't dup the steps. I can see both sets but it only counts the misfit steps. As the source it lists the misfit first then the phone- I didn't do that so I dont know how it knew. But I haven't tested it completely, like what it would do if I carried the phone and didn't have the misfit. The misfit never leaves my wrist lol.
The misfit app is great at syncing, when it syncs its immediately available in Health. Love love my misfit :)

Is anyone else using Wristband Manager to sync their Fitbit steps into HealthKit? It is piling my FitBit steps on top of the iPhone's built-in step tracking. I changed the priority to put Wristband Manager first for Steps, but I'm still seeing duplication. I don't see a way to turn off the iPhone's M7 steps. Does anyone have any ideas?
