If I had to guess, I'd say the people doing the complaining and the people doing the swearing are two different groups of people ;)

That said I've got maybe 150 MB free, on a jailbroken iPhone 5 running 6.1.2. Not even close to worth the trouble, lol.

If a jailbroken phone is important to you then none of this matters until someone comes out with an iOS 8 jailbreak. Which makes me wonder why you'd even bother to post in this thread.

Thank you!!!!
I was not using message preview. Lol, I was like: "what an ALMOST useful feature" =P

Ugh. I spoke too soon. =(
I enabled preview; still, I see the message.... try to pull down & it just bounces back. I can slide it to the right obviously & launch the app but no quick reply for me. Any other settings suggestions?

Is this for a text message or an iMessage? When you slide it in the lock screen or in Notification Center what options do you see?

It's an iMessage... I don't have one up now, but I believe it says something like "slide to reply"; pulling the entire notification tray down with my finger on the message I want to reply to does not reveal the cool new reply box. I've only ever got that to show up when I catch the notification in banner form. As soon as it rolls away & goes to my slide down notification window, I seem to have lost my opportunity to reply in this manner.

You're more optimistic than I am. I just assumed it was the same people and they didn't know any better :)

If it's in Notification Center then hold down the particular notification and slide it to the left and that should reveal some options where one should be a reply option. Should work similarly on the lock screen.

Pictures

Oh my god why can't I scroll up and down through my pictures like I could in camera roll, I don't want them by date or location. Sorry IOS 8 sucks.

You can still scroll up and down there are just some extra dividers for days/locations.

I've seen at least a dozen of these posts today, but when people ask that Apple increase the base storage from 16 GB everyone is in here swearing up and down they don't need the increased storage.

On iPhone 5 I downgraded to 16 thinking the cloud/match etc would make that acceptable. WRONG. I'm glad to see apple embrace 64 and 128.

Omg, thank you!
I feel so derpy. Lol, swipe LEFT.. not right. Gotcha now.

Does anyone know how to get rid of QuickType and the "Recents" in app-switcher mode?
QuickType: You can swipe down on the prediction area above the keyboard and that would minimize it and not use it. Alternatively you can press the little globe key at the bottom left and that should show an option for different keyboards and the top one should be a predictive type option that you can then enable/disable there.

Recents: Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Show In App Switcher (in Contacts area) > disable Recents

I just noticed that in Mail you can no longer go back to the top of the message by tapping the top of the screen. That technique still works in Safari though.

And BTW, I'm really liking the new keyboard suggestions.

That's a bug.

What has always annoyed me is that Apple has no "scroll to the bottom" option.

Which is especially annoying since Mail doesn't allow me enable images in emails for specific senders or domains, and "Load Images" option/button/link is at the bottom of the email. :(

Edit: As always, Apple is slow to update the iOS version numbers on their feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Battery usage by app is something I've always wanted but have forgotten about until now. It's one of the things Android had that iOS should have had before.

There is a really cool App at the Apple App Store called " Normal " it does exactly the same and even better, infect it also works on battery use on jail broken tweaks from Cydia and beside showing battery usage on real time it also gives recommendations on battery saving battery and getting extra time, the way it works is that it collects data from millions of iPhones and iPads to a cloud and in time learns everything on each App and by doing that it will tailor a battery advices for your personal iDevice. Check it out!

Still works fine for me in Mail.

iOS 8 Hidden Features Video: Battery Usage By App, Hidden Photos, Siri Hands-...

And this is why they should have just got rid of the 16 GB and kept 32 GB now people have no choice to get 64 GB that costs more where 32 GB would have easily just replaced the 16 GB, typical Apple not to sound like a dick.

Doesn't the 64 gb cost the same as a 32 used to? That's a win win! Then there's the standard 16 gb for those that want the base price.
